Why did you not inform a steward that there was an "idiot Geordie mouthing off" who should not be there and he was ruining your enjoyment and upsetting your family, as that is what I would have done ?

It's not just about the football and "thuggery", it goes deeper. I would say it is about displacement of anger. These situations are just the head to a volcano ready to erupt. What was brewing underneath, to set the volcano erupting in the first place??

I agree it can be a buzz. But there are consequences to be suffered. Magistrates and boys in blue do not ask what it was that led to this behaviour. A three year ban and possible time in nick is the reward. I dont want to sound like I'm lecturing but just looking at it realistically. Spread the good Karma

I pay for my season ticket and I supported the team exactly how I wanted to, and that didn't involve throwing people down onto the heads of little children.
Trouble is Michael,in an ideal world,we could all sit hand in hand with opposition supporters, and enjoy the game we are watching.

Been to many Rugby matches and it is not a problem. It's a football problem.

I have also gone to many matches and sat in the away end with mates supporting the home team.I have always kept my mouth shut.

It would be nice if we could all sit together and have healthy banter...but hey..just look at QPR fans on this board alone, arguing over certain things and almost coming to cyber blows.

Having said that, i have quite often sat in R block and had our own fans nearly coming to blows.

I would be slightly miffed however, If sitting in a QPR designated area was told to sit down by opposing fans.

The answer - keep fans apart.

Is it a coincidence that the halfwits who think football violence is justifiable tend to be semi-literate? These uneducated brutes should stay away from the game. I've hardly been this season, partly because I am getting so sick of the large number of boorish oafs among our support.

Yes, the Geordies shouldn't have been in SAR. But it is laughable that the bullies who wouldn't think twice about punching someone and throwing them into families and small children are outraged by the crime of sitting in the wrong stand at a sporting event. Face the fact: you are psychopaths with a skewed sense of right and wrong. The 'punishment' is totally disproportionate to the 'crime'.

you all have fair points so you are not wrong i was in SA road stand when it went off against Portsmouth and Women and kids were in danger i was inches away from being arrested as the guys made a deffensive line to protect the kids police soon realised what was happening though mind you i did take a while to get the cops in.
Dyslexic so please don't feel the need to correct my spelling mistakes as I really don't give a **** and before you say use spell checker if it is spelt right / wright but not in context spell check is useless

It seems we have three issues here - firstly did the Geordie get his just desserts? secondly should 'home' supporters act in this way? and lastly what's the lasting affect on those not directly involved, i.e. the kids the Geordie landed on.

Lets be honest here, we all know what can happen at a match in whatever area of a ground. When my kids were little we sat in the family stand, then as they grew older we progressed to the upper loft and now in the R or X block. One could ask the question - 'why weren't the little ones safe and sound in the lower loft?'

Football is a passionate game, fans are like tribes and protect their territory. If you dont like these facts dont go
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

                                well

well everyone knows that x block is patrolled by c mob and the remanants of the old paddock and a block is patrolled by the other active mob the northolt boys,so it was ridiculous the geordies comming into the sa stand.
if they had of gone into the x block ellerslie road in huge numbers then they could have had a massive police escort, and possibly survived
So it was a very bad days work going into perhaps the most lethal stand outside the big four in london and mouthing off.
THERE IS ONE GOLDEN RULE THAT UNLESS YOUR PLAYING BRENTFORD,YOU MUST NEVER GO INTO MILLWALL WEST HAM TOTTENHAM CHELSEA OR QPR,as police statistics make these the most dangerous grounds in london,AND GIVE IT THE BIG UN even a man of my gigantic size do obey these rules, when qpr played chelsea away in the quater final I WALKED INTO STAMFORD BRIDGE ON MY OWN i was emeidiatly identified but i didnt say a word i sat quietly on my own,and obeyed the rule of the jungle.I WAS AWARE OF THE CHELSEA ALL LOOKING AT ME IN AMAZEMENT............but they payed me respect and didnt attack me because i obeyed the rules of the jungle, AND IM AFRAID NOTHING HAS CHANGED....................its horrable but its football, yes i was there when portsmouth rioted in the sa stand and the ellerslie.
But it was just handbags ..........A LOAD OF IDIACY...............................
