Pompey will have to overcome a 17 point deduction to overcome anyone, but they have a lot of quality players but a lot of debt to overcomeRIP: Doug, Sniffer and Pat

Pompey have to be out of administration by 31st May or they will start next season on at best -10 points, the whole squad is available for transfer and those that stay will be on severely reduced salaries...
few of the current squad (even the CCC quality players) will hang about. Mercenaries and kids next season for them

IMO, unless who ever takes over them very soon, pays off the outstanding wages, appearance clauses and wipes of the debt. All the good / average players will leave for small amounts or on free. Pompei season will depend on the manager they bring in as they will have to be very good at finding quality at the lower level.
If they find a sugar daddy and get some money to hold onto some of their average / good players as well as buy a few, then i would agree beware. But i fear this wont happen as they are no longer in honey land of the prem and as a result loses all average / goof fooballing assets and go staright through the trap door.
We have been there, we were lucky that we found Olly who stopped the rot, but there are not many out there who have this talent as you need to have more about you than just being a good manager. One for all.... and all for one

I don't understand football finance but unless they have sorted their debt (£92Mil?) I think they should be wound-up and thrown out of the league. Even if they somehow survive as a going concern I can't see them doing well next season. I find it unbelievable how a company that gets loads of Sky TV money to prop it up still goes #### up????

Pompey will start next season on either -10 or -17 points depending on what report you read. In addition they will have to manage their 119 million pound debt by slashing the wage bill and selling players.
I would expect that the administrators will agree a deal where somewhere between 10p and 25p in every pound owed is paid in order for the club to remain in business. Obviously this will have serious repercussions in terms of operating budget for next season so by all rights they should have a team of low earners playing for them.
The long and short of it is, I will be very surprised if Pompey are anywhere near the top of the division next season.
The only bit of luck for Pompey is that Hull City, Norwich, Cardiff and Palace may all be in the same boat!
