  • A plea for help please

On Sunday, an elderley couple in PU block told us that due to ill health and mobility issues they would not be renewing their season tickets next year after 64 years of support.
To be fair, they were a welcome sight as they had been conspicuous by the absence since around Christmas time. We had feared the worst.

During the minutes applause for Tony Ingham, it occured to me that during my meagre 40 years of following Rangers, I had never seen our record appearances legend play, but the the couple a few seats to the left of me had probably witnessed most of them.
There was tears in her eyes as she said her goodbyes to my friends and I and my Son, and we in turn wished them both well for the future.

Later, last night and on reflection, I've decided to write to the Club to ask if they can arrange for some flowers to be sent to this couple to thank them for their loyalty and support over so many years.
If they agree I will happily pay for the flowers.
However, I need the Club to help with this, as I have no idea of their address, or full names (nor to my shame do I recall either of their first names ! Despite many conversations over the last 10 years or so that we've known them. Blame alcohol !)
I figure their details will be on the Club's database at least until 17th May and although I don't expect or wish the club to pass on their details to me, it would be really good if they could arrange for the flowers to be sent and bill me.

Secondly, I hear many good things about the Club Community projects and I'm wondering if anything can be done to arrange transport to and from the ground for this couple or at least invite them as guests of the Club to an occasional fixture.

Now there are posters and regulars on here that have good links to various people in the club, who I believe would be able to help me cut through some of the red tape and possible delays before this couples records are lost (after May 17th ?) when their seats will be re-allocated.
I'm thinking Gianni (Pete, MYU, Scott, anyone, can you help here ?)
Anyone got any good contacts in the Club's community project. I have yesterday's program, but would really like some direct email addresses of key personel for the quickest response.
Obviously, I understand personal details should not be openly displayed on message boards, but am happy to get involved in 'PM's if someone could tell me how to send or receive them.

Thanks in advance for ANY help ANYONE can offer.

    Enjoy your Bank Holiday.

This is such a worthy post, I really hope someone is in the position to help.
Perhaps it's worth emailing the club or Gianni direct?
(I would imagine, by the way, that their details will stay on the database after May 17th -- the club chase up non-renewals throught the close season.)
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Thanks, (I've no idea what being 'stickied' is but I notice the thread has moved)

Email addreeses would be idea, I've just drafted the letter, but I've no idea what say Gianni's email address is, or Community Manager, or Press Manager or Amit's PA or......

And I understand they should not be openly displayed, so I'm hoping someone will PM me.
I reckon this is a good example of using contacts at the club for a positive result. Fingers crossed.

I'm sure they will keep their details on a database, but it would be more difficult to find once their seats are re-allocated I figure.

Dyslexic so please don't feel the need to correct my spelling mistakes as I really don't give a **** and before you say use spell checker if it is spelt right / wright but not in context spell check is useless

QPR1976, do the couple sit in row A in PU? If so, then it's the couple that we used to sit next to up there until we had to move. They live out Bill Power's way in Beaconsfield and there used to be 3 of them but one of them had to stop coming to LR a few years ago as he was suffering from ill health.

Contact Jenny Elliott at the box office. She should be able to help.

Ooooh, seems I've been unstickied !
Nuffield, I WANT to pay for the flowers. They were very complimentary about my son and they've watched him grow up in fortnightly snap shots for well over 10 years from 6 to 16. An interesting perspective that you don't appreciate when your so close to someone.
I want to make a personal gesture of gratitude.
Buzsaky - not yet, but I've great hope and promise to update all further down the line.

Pete - I will PM you again, but sadly, I don't know their names. To my shame, after so long pushing past them to my seat or from it and despite many conversations, it never registered. I'd like to blame alcohol, but in reality it's my failing.
Keep reading though, a breakthrough is near (Tracy).

MYU - OK, I think he's doing his best, thanks.

Tracy - YES, they do, and you did, in fact your family sat immediately between them and us. At this point I probably should apologise for all the times we turned up late and I left before half time to get the boys their B&W beer ! Only to return late for the 2nd half !
It was a pleasure to sit next to you and we miss you & other half & you daughters. Sorry for being a nuisance.
Sadly, the remaining 2 are now suffering from ill health. We feared the worse having not seen them since Xmas until Newcastle and it was then she reeled of a list of ailments as long as your arm to me. It was VERY emotional.
                              I'm determined to do something.
Jenny has been cc'd on my email to the club - thanks.
