  • proud of the lads today

thought we were brilliant today. the only thing i would complain about is that we didnt take our chances, and got punished yet again. MOM for me was dusko tosic. fantastic performance, had routledge in his pocket all game.

Agree we didn't deserve to lose against Newcastle, and we wouldn't have if we'd had two good forwards up front, God knows we created enough good opportunities to send the Geordies home pointless today.
I fully expect Neil Warnock to improve our strike options for next season, In Neil, I trust.

You know, the sending-off made such little difference, it hasn't yet registered with me that we were a man down for practically the whole of the second half.
A good pointer as to how our team played so magnificently.

Would have won with a decent striker. Too lightweight up front and no one wanting to take responsibility for shooting. Too many rugby conversions from outside the box. Not good.

            Could a, should a, would a...

Against a Newcastle reserve team on their holidays, which came alive when Lovenkrands and Carol came on, we were shite! End of season practice match for them, but we tried and came short.

We need to find players who know how to score for next season, which I'm sure we will

I think it insults the team a bit when we say we are "proud" after losing at home,i think we are better than that, and hopefully next season we wont be posting threads saying how "proud" we are after losing at home.

I wasnt there but it does seem from reports and stats that we were better than them

no suprise really so typical of rangers to pull out a good performance when under no pressure and also so typical that we fail to take advantage

lets see if warnock can change this around so that we do take our changes and put up good performances when they are really needed
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

Tosic was excellent. Buz and Faurlin partnership in middle was very good. It all hinged on Simpson for me.
                      1) he delayed through ball too long to priskin, who then strayed off side
                      2) he then decided to dally and do nothing with ball rather than cross to buzz, priskin and one other who had bust a gut to get in box....all unmarked I should add. They broke cos players had gone forward, got overrun and they scored good breakaway goal.
                      3) Missed one on one shortly after

Talk of signing him permanently....earlier in season I'd have said he was good buy but he's clearly lost confidence and has in my view missed some excellent chances (reading away for example). Is he worth splashing cash on?

What are the chances of signing Tosic?

I would have thought good. He certainly put in a good shift yesterday...trying to prove something to the gaffer? Simple as just offering a contract...no other clubs involved, unless I'm mistaken?

be a v gd signing, and free. hopefully free up more of the budget where players are more expensive - like up front. i know its v early days but so far has looked our best left back since rufus and poss even clive wilson (who for the record was in a league of his own, even if I do retain fond memories of "Mad" Mark Dennis...)

Wilson was fantastic. Him and bardsley were first fullbacks I remember watching. Wilson's penalties as well were top notch. Tosic was solid in defence and got forward all game...when down to 10 men, that was very impressive. Better than anything we've seen in that position for a while.
