Fair point on the shady bit, and well, all of our owners have all had shady pasts at times shall we say.

But, it doesnt stop the fact that his record of late shows, go to club, stay for a year, leave in dodgy circumstances, get bumper pay off.

Suppose it's each to their own, I think it'd be the best appointment for us. Everyone harped on Sousa was going to be a great manager because he'd played in and won cups - well this Venables has a bloody good track record, is a Rangers legend which always goes down well with us supporters and would give the ground some atmosphere back.

No you're right. One of my Uncles last night said exactly the same as you..I think many will feel the same way. For me though no. I don't think he'll be as universally welcomed as say someone like Pearce would have been or even LDC for that matter. We'll just have to wait and see!

One thing for sure is that if players contracts are coming up for renewal/negotatiation both at the club and player targets we need to get him (whoever it may be) in place asap so he can buy/sell who he wants to.
