Just my sort of place. Sounds marvelous.

Makes me laugh when people slate the Crown & Sceptre yet bang on about shitholes like The White Horse, Conningham & British Queen. C & S is one of the best pubs in Shepherds Bush and has been for years, maybe if those slating it actually drunk in Shepherds Bush other than matchdays your opinions would be valid.
/.../ many inner city London areas like Shep.Bush has become gentrified and for the better. Pubs like the revamped Greyhound, Adelaide, Princess Vic, Defectors Weld & C&S are good for the area, if you don't like it find a working mans club /.../.
C&S is a good boozer and a comfortable place to watch the football, it is not full of toffs either, just normal people who don't wish to be surrounded by knuckle draggers whilst enjoying a pint.
Just to add I watched a couple of Rangers games in the C&S this season (Watford & West Brom) on SKY and thought it was fantastic to be surrounded by so many Rangers fans who live locally for once and no Chelsea or *** supporting ****s. Thai Kitchen went down very well after a days work (obviously not as good as a sausage roll and some peanuts) and the atmosphere was brilliant for the West Brom game would advise it to any locals when The Superhoops are on the box.

The Crown & Sceptre was my local for donkey's years. A beautiful Victorian/Edwardian boozer where little had changed since the day my Grandad was treated to his first pint on his fifteenth birthday!!!! Those were the days
Now look at it, just one more gastro pub in a sea of many, bland, soulless, contemporary, with a clientele mainly made up by those who are ludicrously described as being, "young professionals."

I prefer a boozer that is wall to wall tension where a savage brawl can break out at any moment. I love it when you cant get in the bogs for Burberry clad chav's having a nose up and everyone uses phrases like "muggy c*nts and jog on".
