saying that next season is going to be incredibly close with all the clubs v evenly matched and that this will really be a test of who is the best manager. sounds like he really feels he's got something to prove by getting a club into the premiership. it also suggests to me that he isn't expecting a massive war chest by saying its not going to be like this year when Newcastle and West Brom ran away with it. Instead it wd seem like he is going to have to duck and dive in the transfer market and compete as best he can. stand by for lots of clint hill/ bogdanovic freebies by the sound of it with only half serious money on one or perhaps two strikers.

He hasn't got unlimited funds, but what we have to bare in mind is that 2/3 quality strikers cost the most money, he may have to pay out £4m in strikers so the rest may be free transfers or low budget players.
I think the team isn't as bad as you think, we just needed a couple of players to put the goals away and we'd be up their so I'm quite confident.

I still don't think Warnock would have left Palace unless he was promised a budget. I think by signing Hill first up it says to our rivals that QPR are going to do it on the cheap again which means clubs won't hold us to ransom. If he'd have gone out and spent £3m on the first signing all of the clubs would think they can up the prices because QPR are spending big this summer.
Warnock knows how to play the media and our rivals. He is picking his words rather carefully at the moment.
