What like we did in '83, with possibly the best football I have seen us play.

Football has progressed a hell of a long way since then my friend, what was groundbreaking in the world of coaching back then will be long discarded

would be good, or maybe him as sporting director or main manager with stuart pearce as head coach.

that wasn't the last time he managed, he got england to semi's of euro 96, and got boro out of being relegated this century, over 20 years of experience, even done wonders with the australian national team

Im aware churcy I was just making reference to his influence on the team of 83, I wouldnt be completley against el tel but I would like to see him with a younger, knowledgeable assistant to keep things 'fresh' so to speak

Despite defying all logic to my simple mind, i have a feeling this would be a good move.

At least we would have a manager that would command respect fron his highness.

My comment was in connection to the not getting promoted jibe. In answer to your speculation I would say that Sir Alex hasn't done bad for someone in the job for a similar amount of time, he seems to have kept up with things in the coaching world.
