  • Faurlin Speaks... Credit to Paladini

Well that end's yet another Paladini debate...

QPR will sit down on Monday with Alejandro Faurlin to persuade the midfielder his future is with them – and not two top clubs trying to lure the £3.5million Argentine away.

Rangers are set to dangle the carrot of a hike in wages on his three-year deal provided he ignores the overtures from Celtic and an unnamed Premiership club.

Faurlin’s agent, Lucas Cominelli revealed the midfielder’s rise to prominence has courted outside attention.

Cominelli said: “There are things to discuss with QPR, and in the next week or so we should know more.”

However, the 23-year-old is more than happy to commit to Rangers, after a first season when he got better and better despite playing under five different managers.

But for once, Faurlin's background was actually a bonus in dealing with the constant stream of departures.

He said: “In Argentina it’s normal. When you lose three or four games, he (the manager) is gone.

“But every new manager has different ideas of how to play – and that’s not always easy to understand straight away.”

Despite the rollercoaster that has been QPR’s season, Faurlin does not regret leaving his home country for a second.

In his first-ever interview since arriving from Instituto El Cordoba last summer, the Argentine reckons he owes a debt of gratitude to Rangers – and is looking to repay the faith shown in him by the club.

He said: “Yes it was difficult at first with the language and different football.

“And it’s true we didn’t have as good season as we wanted. But I thank Gianni Paladini (chairman) for bringing me here and giving me the chance to prove myself in England.
“Personally I think I got better, and I am very happy and comfortable here – and Neil Warnock is a very positive manager. He knows what he wants, and he trusts me.”

SM, i don't think people are arguing that GP brought him over here, as part of his job as DOF, he would have been the main person to negotiate the....finer issues..of signing and bringing players to the club.

Fans initial question and point was, who first spotted him?It was well documented that John Gorman spotted him first and as his job at the club, he would have brought this to the attention of both Jim Mag and Gianni.

Can't see what all the bickering and counter bickering is all about..

tbh i dont care who spotted him.. he is ours and if paladini is the one who helped him settle then congrats gianni..

fact remains gianni and NW needs to help convince him to stay with us.

So - ensuring GP is given his dues (which he inexplicably seems rather keen to have) we now have to admit the Club lied to supporters with the Magilton/Gorman/Ipswich scouting.

          Great :o(

One man, it seems, is bigger than the club. Ego and id especially.

Depends what offer Celtic are thinking? If the offered us £5m then I think it would be in our best interests to sell him and reinvest that money into 4 top players.

Need to keep hold of faurlin. He's the only current squad member I'm certain can make the step up.
Well done to paladini if he did find him. If only the rest of his 49 signings were as good.

So basically what you are saying that this quote is totally inconclusive.

Whether it is Gianni the liar, Petey the liar or the Club lying we have been spun a yarn and it is not exceptbale. I couldn't care less who brought Faurlin to the club he is a great player but some of those with no moral fibre don't seem to think the lies are not a problem as long as they prove their point and are right.

Rewriting history brings further shame on the club and no doubt Faurlin has been instructed to ensure he makes that quote, totally disgusting and the club should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

That, with respect, is not the best way to invest. Ally is an asset and you should protect your assets. NW has implied in interview that Ally can be the lynch pin of our team and we can build round him - why try and replace someone who seems to have that ability and offers that midfield option? Assuming the Board are true to their word and will provide NW with the support he will need then keep him and let NW build away - we may even start to call him Bob the Builder Warnock

Faurlin is our best player by a country mile...a few of us have spotted that loads of times he must be wondering to himself what the hell he is doing with these other players around him who seem not to understand or read the game in the way that he does..some of his great passes have just not been reached...well done to Gorman for spotting..him

Agreed. Gianni is a liar through and through as proved at Port Vale. The sooner this guy goes the better for QPR and we all want that.

He prob was the only one who could talk the same lingo as Faurlin. Either way questions need answering. Gianni is lying about getting Ali in or its all a cover up.

Copy of post I placed on dotorg. Expect this to be shipped out to the graveyard very soon.....

I don't think there's any debate but why put out something on the OFFICIAL site clearly saying Magilton and Gorman were the ones who scouted and signed him?

I'm damn sure he'd still be a Magilton and Gorman signing if he'd turned out like Tchakounte, Ukah or Czerkas.

Does GP really think it is acceptable to lie outright to the supporters of the club, bypass all the usual PR mechanisms and then whine like a 7 year old when he doesn't get the credit? It's amateurish and pathetic.

There's very good episode of the US version of The Office where the manager persuades his 2nd in command to fess up and take the blame for a harebrained scheme that the manager set up. When the directors liked the scheme, the manager then devises an even more ridiculous scheme to ensure he gets the credit.

Repeat. It's pathetic and a bit sad to see a man in his 60's behaving like Shirley Temple when she's lost her lollipop.

It's almost as if its a harebrained scheme to prove to Ishan and Amit that he really is a top scout and indespensible. Arf f***ing arf!

One theory is the lie was told to deflect attention away from his failings as DoF after all Faurlin was our '£3.5 million record signing' so it would not look good if he flopped and he could just blame Gorman. Then Faurlin is a success and Gianni wants to ensure he takes credit for signing him so spouts off to a young reporter, spins the story on Peteys radio show and gives Petey the heads up last week that Faurlin will quote him as bringing him to the club so Petey does what he is told to do and gloats about it.

Alternatively Gorman did identify him as some Ipswich fans have suggested on their MB's.

Either way we have been lied too and at the centre of this lie is guess who, its totally unexceptable IMO.
