Am I the only one who isn't bothered about last night's performance?

It was an end of season nothing game for us - yet we still won - and we are now sitting comfortably in the table above the likes of Derby and Coventry. Not a glowing report in normal circumstances but I never saw that coming a couple of weeks back as before the Palace game I, like many, was hoping for one place above the drop zone.

But that isn't it. That isn't why I'm not bothered and I'm not going to pretend that everything is rosy in the Loftus Road garden because it isn't.

Why I'm not bothered is because Warnock is making do with what he has got and has admitted that a lot of last night's players won't be here next season anyway so I see no point in whingeing about them.

As for the hoofball tactics? No one is a lover of them but they've won us the points this season. Some seem to think that this is what we can expect next season too but who's to say that with different players, and largely his own, he won't adopt a different system - maybe a compromise for different opponents - but with better passing football with players that are more comfortable on the ball and more capable of producing that style?

Two games to go. We are safe. We are not pretty and the football is a bit rough. But for two more games maybe I can take that and get this rotten season out of the way and look forward to better players, a more attractive style of football next season and hopefully a play off challenge.

In the meantime I'm gonna enjoy a day out at the Newcastle game - whatever the result - and look forward to the summer and the World Cup and see who's in our starting line-up next season.

This season has been a mare. Let's just move on.

Warnock took on a bloody mess, and to have us sitting in mid table, 8 points above the drop was something we could only dream of before his 1st game (WBA).

With the injuries, the rock-bottom morale when he turned up, the totally unbalanced (mainly borrowed) squad we still have.... I'd say he's managed a little miracle to get that shower of s**t we saw in games against Ipswich, S****horpe, Forest etc.. into mid-table.

I've got no problem with moaning on webstites... that's the nature of them. People can post what they want, if that's how they see things.
But considering that we were in freefall and heading for League One IMO, and the fact that the club is now in good hands, I do think that the reaction on here over the last 24 hours has been way over the top.

But that's just my take on it.

Best post on here by a country mile. Lads, would you rather we be playing lovely football and going down?

Sure it was an ugly, messy game but we won and we got another clean sheet (though largely because Watford were so poor up front).

A few months ago we were prime relegation candidates and didn't look like we could buy a win. Warnock came in and, I think with just one extra loanee in Tosic and then shuffling the pack, has arrested our fall, got us some crucial wins and ensured our championship status with three games to go.

I'm not a Warnock devotee. I have questioned why he has kept faith with Priskin until last week and why we haven't seen him try out Balanta who was our outstanding player in pre-season.

But having said that, the only thing I wanted him to do was keep us up by hook or by crook in what - even by our standards - has been a bizarre, nightmarish season.

This isn't his team but he's sorted out a defence (see how much we are catching teams offside now). It's not perfect, it's ugly but it will do.

Bring on the next season in hope once again.

im not bothered either. I expected Watford to dominate to be honest, as they are playing for their survival. I will be pleased to see the end of some of those players, who just arent good enough, and excited to see warnock build his own side. I think he has already identified our weak areas, and will put them right

No you are not alone, I would much rather the end of season 1-0 dross win of last night than an exciting last game of the season, as a must win ! Ask Palace or Sheff Weds or Watford fans which they would prefer right now.
NW has performed a minor miracle keeping us up, there is no way we would have survived without him, we would have been alongside Plymouth.

QPR won an end of season game and pulled away from the drop zone. If they can get a few more points in years to come nearly everyone would have forgotten that QPR suffered a dip in form for 4 months to drop down into the bottom 6.

Warnock has performed very well at doing what he was brought in to do i.e. win enough points/games to stay up and then build a side capable of winning promotion. Mission 1 has been accomplished with 3 games to spare.

Anyone not happy, could do a lot worse than to stop whingeing.
