What is it about this board that seems to actually enjoy slating our players. so having crucified tarabbt, lets now move on to simpson........ he is our tops scorer, he is streets better than anything else at the club he is the closest to a 20 goal striker we have had in ages...he clearly is struggling with his fitness at the moment. you lot never stop!

Its a tough one, he is still so young and definetly has an eye for goal, with the right strike partner he could definetly improve on his 13 goals next season. Thing is, how much would Arsenal want for him? i wouldn't pay over 750k.
From Warnocks comments though it looks like he is going back.

That's our problem, we give average players to many chances. If you deserve to start, you start, if you dont deserve to start, you shouldn't. Currently Simpson don't deserve to start so it tough boobies on him and pointless treading on eggshells. Football is about winning, not about being warm, cuddly and understanding.
You think he is struggling with fitness, so why should he start ?

Simpson is a decent player and young enough to improve.
I would try and buy him from Arsenal. I don't think they will want more than a million for him (if that), because he hasn't scored a huge amount of goals, so is not what Arsenal need next season. How long he has left on his contract will be a major factor in his price.
I do think that he needs a decent strike partner and I know that Warnock is looking to buy two or three new strikers. Hopefully this will include Hooper and Simpson as well as a good target man.

Paul - I would buy Hooper and Simpson. QPR will need competition for places and Simpson has shown, especially earlier in the season, that he can score regularly and from inside the area.
He is capable of getting on the end of decent knock downs. He hasn't had much opportunity to do this in recent gamrs, because Priskin is not a good enough supporting striker for him.
Simpson has scored 12 league goals this season, despite playing most of it as a lone striker and under four managers, excluding the Gallen/Bircham combo.
I would rather see what he can do next season alongside a good target man, in a settled team with a settled manager.
If QPR can get him for around £750k, Simpson could prove to be a very good signing.
