My sons mate is a Man Utd fan, but him and his dad have a season ticket at Fulham, because they get to see Prem football in London.
He's fond of Fulham, but not what you'd call a supporter.
To judge the size of a fanbase, or the size of a club, purely on their home gates while in the Premier League gives a very false impression.
It's more about what crowds you get if you are 2nd or 3rd Division... as well as the away following.
For that reason, I'd say that Norwich have shown over the last couple of years that they are a much bigger club than I ever gave them credit for. And Ipswich, and probably Charlton too.
But Fulham?? Nah, sorry. I don't buy it.
Very well marketed, and a great PR Department though.
And I actually don't have a huge problem with them, even though I should, what with local rivalry, etc..Final Version - Hope you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1z0UQ0eqRM

The opposition always dictates the size of a crowd , why will you have more than 10,000 home supporters against Newcastle ?
surely you all go to watch QPR and not the opponents !
The reason our gates are DOUBLE yours is because of cost , I sit about 10 feet from the away dug out , so basically on the half way line , and ive already renewed for next season despite the fact that my ticket has gone up by £50 ! its now going to cost me £399 instead of £349 , tell me again how much yours are going to cost to watch QPR play the likes of Hull, S****horpe and Barnsley !!

It's mainly because you are playing in the Premier League.
If it's "all about cost", then why is your away support so poor?
Is it because the train fares, petrol and away tickets are dearer for Fulham fans??
No... it's because you don't have much support. It really is THAT simple.
You've answered it yourself... we pay upwards of £500 to watch 2nd divison football against the likes of S****horpe and Peterborough, while you lot pay £300 odd quid to watch Premier League football against Man Utd, Spurs and Arsenal.
That's why your gates are higher.
The big mistake you are making all throughout this thread is thinking that it's only the home gates you get in The Premiership that equals overall support and fanbase of a club.
Go to an away game up north, and have a look around yourself. Have a look at the pictures of your lot at Man City this season. Or at Sunderland, or Wigan. It's embarrassing, and you know it!
We aint Real Madrid, we're not even West Ham... we know that, but please don't come on here and pretend you are either.
In reality, Fulham are the Wigan of The South.
Same as Wimbledon used to be. Remember them?? They were all the rage for a few years too.
They got half decent average gates in The Premiership too. They averaged 20,000 at one point, and pulled in 30,000 for a Premier League game v Man Utd... you think they had big "support"?? Did they f***.
Their away following gave that little clue. You could fit them on The London Eye, and still have room for the players. And their wives.
And kids.
These days, it's Fulham.
You are Wigan, you are Wimbledon.Last edited by Goddard; 20-04-2010, 02:31 AM.Final Version - Hope you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1z0UQ0eqRM

Read my post again Goddard, or get a grown up to read it to you !
+1 to winalotto and all the others , who just deal in facts and are not wearing Blue and White tinted glasses !
When youve finished your homework today , log on to Fulham fc and have a read up on the storey on the main page about season ticket renewals !!!, the poor sods in the office have been snowed under with applications and have had to put further apllications on hold ,
Fulham ARE bigger than QPR , as you ARE bigger than Brentford and Chelsea ARE bigger than Fulham and Arsenal ARE bigger than them , theres no point in getting upset about it facts are facts , thats life ,
This post wasnt started by a Fulham fan , it was started by a QPR fan (that also supports Barca ! ) hopefully this thread has helped him understand the make up of (South) West London football !
Good luck in your "derby" game tonight !

I have read it.
It wasn't easy. Due to lack of paragraphs, 650 commas, and no full stops etc.. but apart from that:
You are STILL making that mistake. The big mistake.
The same mistake you have made in every post you've made.
Your season ticket sales while you are selling cheap tickets (well done to Fulham FC for that), is not a true reflection of your overall support.
There are many season ticket holders at Fulham who are not lifelong Fulham supporters.
I live in Essex, and around my way, there are four Fulham season ticket holders that I know of.
Two of those are Arsenal fans who can't get a season ticket at The Emirates, but are on their waiting list, and the other two are Manyoo fans. They go to Fulham because £300ish for a Premiership Season Ticket in London is a bloody bargain, and they get to watch Top Flight Football for a price that is excellent value.
Well done to Fulham FC for that... I genuinely mean it. Brilliant marketing there.
If I lived in London, and loved my football, and wasn't fanatical about my own club... I'd consider doing it too. Great way to spend 300 odd quid a year.
So instead of making that mistake again and again, why don't you explain to me why your home gates are so healthy, and yet your away support is so appalling??
It's a simple question, but the answer is not one that you can handle. Everyone knows the answer, and i suspect you do too.
If you can come up with another reason why those 1000's of Fulham "supporters" who pack into Craven Cottage, seem to go strangely missing when your (good) team venture away from the banks of The Thames, other that the fact that they don't actually exsist - I'm more than willing to hear it.
Is there some kind of medical condition that prevents your fans from travelling in numbers, anywhere north of Watford?
Or south of Watford, come to that.

when youve been in The Premier League for as long as we have , it starts to get a bit boring to go and watch a league match at say Liverpool or Man U or indeed the likes of Blackburn and Bolton , its ok when you first go up but after a while paying the best part of £50 just to get in at some of these dull plastic bowls just isnt worth it ,
I was one of the 8,500 that went to Man u on a sunday afternoon for a Cup game that was live on tv ! because basically thats what little Clubs do in their Cup Final , as you did twice recently to Stamford Bridge , did Chelsea sell out their own allocation for either ?
We`ve played Accrington Stanley and Kettering away in the cup over the last 2 seasons and a ballott had to take place ! Why , because supporters always want something that they havent got ! a couple of seasons from now and this board will be full of people moaning about the cost of Premiership football , sad but true !
Incidentally , as i`m sure you aware weve taken thousands away in The Europa League , Roma , Juve, Wolfsburg and weve sold our 2,500 allocation to Hamburg (not that anyone can get there now) filling 3 planes !!!!
All this because its more exciting than ANOTHER trip to the aforementioned Clubs ,
Or are all the tickets being snapped up by people who cant get a ticket at Man u and Arsenal ?
Dont think so , do you ?
