having said all that......if we are to stick by a manager at last then next season has got to be better!!!

If we also back him with cash then it is down to him, he can't look for excuses. Play Offs would be minimum target if we back him....

sadly after being fed utter tosh for past few years im not as 'excited' about our 'promotion challenge' as others on here.

need to sign the players first.. then secondly they need to perform.. wont be easy if he gets the players he wants and gets them quickly gelling. especially if its as many as 10 incomings.

Not quite sure where the excitement was coming from pete, because as soon as Magiltons name was announced my expectations decreased, and i wasn't alone,he started reasonably but it went downhill very quickly,i thought we'd be a mid table team and we have done slightly worse,so no,i haven't been surprized, but NEIL,is a different kettle of fish and i am really excited because we have finally, got a very good manager, and i believe player deals (and good ones)are sorted,i can't wait !!!!!!

when you say you believe good players have already been sorted - is this based on knowledge or hope?

I'm excited about every season, but don't want to get my hopes up TOO much like I did last year! Alot of us have learnt from previous mistakes in this case!

am very optimistic bout next season cos just havin a manager installed now will surely help us bring in our targets early instead of missing out because of to much of a delay in appointing a manager as we have done in previous seasons.

For me there's always plenty reason to be optimistic about an upcoming season, in particular next one, for several reasons: Neil's said that getting strikers in are a priority for the summer and English ones at that. Then he'll see what's left in the kitty after that. He doesn't want more than one loanee next season. He's the best manager we've had since Ollie. We finally have stability and funds available. He's also said that play-offs next season are a minimum target.

I'm not the type of fan to set my hopes low to avoid being disappointed. I'd much rather set them high and be optimistic that a new season will bring success. Then if it doesn't pan out I'll deal with that when the time comes. For me that's part and parcel of supporting a club such as ours that's always strived to punch above its weight. So yes, a lot more optimistic about next season than the last three at least.
