  • Not at all. If I want to boo I'll boo.
I groaned... and I think the vast majority only groaned. Tarrabt was looking to be difficult in my opinion, and as a great lover of football I think that asking to be substituted should be in the 10 commandments

    • I actually agree with QPRRich on this one.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

someone has already posted they were near where the boos were coming from...so not all groans.
as for asking to come off...so what....did he come off when asked....no.....so didn't exactly get his own way.
We all sit here preaching but i bet there is not one person on this board that hasn't thrown a hissy fit at some point over something trivial.

End of the day the boy has talent.....it's now down to Warnock to either get rid or embrace it....not up to us...we just get behind the team......most of the time.

        • Are you actually saying it's acceptable to ask to be substituted? That is totally wrong. As said before, being gifted at football is a gift that millions would kill for and no team will succeed with players who don't want to play... FACT

did i say it was acceptable.....no

my arguement is the fact people want to say bye over it......if we done that to all flare players that played in hoops then the legends of the past wouldn't be our legends....

as for the FACT.....there are plenty of players who turn up one day and not the next......teams still succeed.

would any of our legends ever thought, **** this i dont want to be playing, please sub me?

i dont think anybody is doubting AT's skill and quality. However, talk about throwing your toys out of the pram after a few groans. he needs to grow up fast.

i am not denying he needs to grow up,not denying asking to be subbed is wrong....what i keep trying to get across is how fickle the fans are...one minute sign him up the next pack him back off to spurs.

as for the legends....who knows what any of them thought...they played in the era where it was a man's game...not like some of the girlie-boys who play now

                • You're arguing that fans are fickle, but if we said the whole time his attitude wasn't good enough you'd argue we're insane.

At the end of the day many fans thought Tarbs had grown up after his previous strop and instead he proved what a child he was.

As for having players like Tarrabt and succeeding, it is a rare phenominon, especially in this league. Diligent teams playing for each other succeed in this league, teams that run and battle and fight win this league; teams that have players that can throw strops and do the occasional nutmeg do not.

Our aim is the premier league; we are just as likely if not more likely to achieve it without Tarbs than with him.

1st line is rubbish......i was moaning about the fans wanting him then not wanting him...not his attitude.Makes the fans fickle.

so if he stays and Warnock gets him playing without strops and we go up it will be a rare phenominon....i'll take that.

hard to actually judge whether a team can get out of this league with a player like him as there haven't been any....not that i can remember.....plenty in the big leagues...but not the championship.

anyway i have wasted enough time on this...we will never agree...so no point going on.

                      • Last point is the only one I agree with...
As for getting the best out of tarrabt by stopping the strops, that's not going to be done by accepting them. The only way for Tarrabt to be a top top player is for him to grow up and become a man. Allowing him to ask to be substituted and letting him get away with that isn't right. Warnock blabbered on about how Tarrabt needs a strong fisted manager to get the best out of him, then he sucks upto him. Talented players with attitudes may be effective in the Prem but it isn't proven in the Championship so until we get to the promised land I'd much rather stick with committed team players than any stoppy players, regardless of their abilities.

i didn't think he allowed him to be substituted.
we don't know what is going on in the changing room.....for all we know Warnock might have ripped into him.
Also rumours are that Warnock is trying to buy him so not exactly going to slate him in public.....
He signs the lad he will make him the player he has the potential to be......

i totally agree the strops are wrong...but patients is a virtue is something i have been raised to believe.....so i am willing to wait rather that pack him off to spurs.

                          • The first point is pointless. It's not whether he does or not, it's the gesture.
I'd put money on that Tarrabt gets no punishment... what sort of message does that send to the rest of the players. Because faurlin is also talented does that give him the right to act like a p*ick?

                            Finally
'He signs the lad he will make him the player he has the potential to be'
Tarrabt will NEVER reach his potential if we let him act like a child and show pure arrogance like he had on Saturday. Tarrabt has a lot of talent but the indirect effects he has on the team is a huge negative. Simpson's performances have looked lazy and he's been slagged off for it. Why would he bother making runs when Tarrabt never passes it to him? Versus Palace... 3 times Simpson would have been through, no pass came. His nutmegs might be fancy, and some of his trickery is a delight to watch, but his attitude causes laziness that diseases a team and it needs to be stopped, (and letting him asked to be substituted isn't acceptable whoever the hell he is.)

going over the same ground again...so we will stop there...no point.
