Can we still do it with a wage cap?

Premiership players are often on double and thats been the drawback in the past, would it cause unrest if say we paid someone 25k a week, quite a few grand much more than someone else.

take Beattie for example, must be on 30k a week at Stoke and wouldn't come to be on say 10-12k a week

What is the club's wage structure??

I remember Paladini in his interview saying that 1 player was on 16k, 2 were on 14k and the rest were on between 2k-10k.

Worryingly, I reckon 3 of the best paid players are Agymang and Hall who have been sent out on loan because they are useless and Vine who can't even get in a crap side and has spent the season getting fat on the touch line and perfecting his weird running action.

Well, if we want premiership types and avoid the loan market (which we must do) they don't come cheap.

Even say someone like Eubanks Blake must be on over 20k aweek. not sustainable on the crowds we get if we want to run a tight ship

Ebanks Blake is a Premiership player and he played a big part in getting Wolves there, which is why he's on £20k a week (or whatever the true figure is).

Lets make it sensible. If we are to be self sufficient without our Boards money, what could we realistically afford? No more than a max of £6k per week and an average of around £4k I'd guess across the squad and that would not make us competitive at all - we'd be looking down not up.

So, we need our board's money. If they loan it to us on the gamble, increasing the deby week in week out, then you have really got to ask yourself is it worth the gamble? I would probably say no to be honest. This is simply because I'd get very sick of aspiring to finish as high as 10th in the Prem - whoppee do. And of course that assumes we get there; the worst case scenario is a bankrupt club with no ground.

However, if they provide true *investment* and actually used their money to fund our deficits then I say - you crack on fellas and you choose whatever cap you want to put in place. Personally, I would set a reasonable wage with huge, enormous promotion bonuses; surely any ambitious player with potential would jump at such a deal?

Why do so many fans obsess about wages and transfer fees? The only uestion we should be asking is 'who's paying' and 'how'? If the answers are th eowners using their own money, we should be happy; if they are adding to the debt of a business that, if I remember correctly was on the verge on not being a going concern at the last accounts thanks to the debt, then we should be worried.

Let's hope not, eh?

I was more interested to learn the amount of the Prem's parachute payment (in The Sun tho so maybe wrong)......£11 Million for 2 years and they're trying to increase it.......If we've got a £10 Million War Chest (IF!!).....Burnley will have £11 Million at least for 2 years (Maybe not a War Chest albeit) but it does make the £10 Million seem well ordinary. £10 Million more than many teams will have though (again IF it transpires).

Spot on SG! I'm afraid there is no longer a level playing field. If they increase Parachute Payments the rest of us may as well pack up. Name me another sport where faliure is so richly rewarded?

The long term future of the club is by far the most important factor.

Paying silly wages will only lead to trouble. We must stick to what we can afford. If that means we remain a championship club then so beit.

Just be happy we are a club that doesnt have the worries that many other clubs currently have.

There are plenty of players in the Championship that would make the step up to the premier league, go and get them instead.

For example, Roman Bednar and Simon Cox will probably be available as West Brom look to strengthen and they would be a better buy than a so called prem player like Beatie who has a chip on his shoulder and reluctant to drop down a division.

Also, Maynard from Bristol City, Ambrose, Dans and Speroni from Palace, a couple from Newcastle, Bechio from Leeds if they dont go up etc, etc. I am sure all of them would jump at the chance to play for QPR FC in the Championship next season, as we appear to be the team going places.

We should avoid prem players with chips on their shoulders at all costs.

how are they throwing it away when the goal (allegedly) is to get into the prem where they will recoup....spending 20 or even 30 million to accomplish this is not throwing money away.
