cracked skull is a serious injury.. add to the fact he is a central defender and is required to head the ball constantly..

cech had similar injury but wore headgear.. can a centerback wear that?

Not given that he literally goes head-to-head with other players -- the head protector would be a danger to opponents.
As someone said, it's all about waiting for the medics to assess him, monitor him and then give him advice.
Even if he's allowed to continue playing, we may well be looking at 6 months out minimum -- head injuries are too serious to rush back.

not the same injury as Cech, Cech had a depressed skull fracture which needed surgery to remopve the depressed bit of bone, hence the protectice headgear afterwards.
Stewarts injury, whilst evry head injury can be potentially serious, is minor compared to Cech. The bleeding was minor,and any bleeding on the brain stopped and this blood will be reabsorbed. Kept in for neuro observations which are done hourly on anyone with a head injury.
Reckon he will have another scan and if no change probably home soon. If no change he could well be back next season, send me the scan and I'll tell you, lets hope so
