LADIES TRIUMPH!
QPR Ladies have clinched their first trophy of the season with victory over Barnet in the Middlesex County FA Women's Senior Cup Final.
Martino Chevannes' side ran out worthy 3-1 winners at Ashford Town (Middlesex) FC last night.
Rebecca Kane opened the scoring on 19 minutes, only for Stacey Sowden to draw the Bees level three minutes later.
Undeterred, the R's regained the lead four minutes later, when Kane calmly slotted home her second of the evening.
Rangers were always in control in the second period and the Cup was effectively sealed 15 minutes from time, when Charlotte Young fired home from the spot.
A delighted Chevannes told www.qpr.co.uk: "We put on a really good performance and were worthy winners.
"They turned up expecting to win for the sixth year on the spin, but we more than matched them and fully deserved the victory."
Chevannes added: "The third goal was crucial, but I always thought we were in control in the second half.
"The whole team were superb on the night."
