thanks Morris for the link. Confess I know sweet nothing about him but I assume you can't be too shabby and captain of Algeria? I assume this wd be for next season rather than this? Still, I'm just encouraged the club is looking far afield (and not at 18 year old Italians but hardened pros) and all those moaners who suggest our team will be full of foulers from the championship might be in for a surprise.

Gawd....32....Lorient (?)........and what position is it you play again?

I know we are self-censuriously verbotten from knocking managers for another decade or so but.....really?! I do hope this is nonsense.

32 is old enough. We need a young hungry player!

We also need experience and leadership.

How old were Wilkins and Reid when they played for us.

To me sounds like yet again, we will be going down the route of free signings, long contracts and excessive wages.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

i disagree a little about needing young players. Yes, we need them, but we have missed the older more experienced players and presence IMO. You always need 2 or 3 around at least to give you some presence

Yeah fair enough Jill but why go for an algerian that has been plying his trade in france. Is this really a warnock decision and sounds like he has just watched a couple of dvds. I know you have to take into account of what your scouts tell you but I would much rather we sign proven quality at this level.

i agree with you, i guess itd be a gamble. Id much rather have porven players too, but I trust warnock more than anyone to sign those kind of players - im sure he will. Lets just hope we stay up and attract some good players. Otherwise we will end up with even worse than what we have got already!

Yep, I bet inspirational signings like this will help ST sales.

What is it about this site that as soon as any name is mentioned as a possible signing people come on here knowing absolutley sweet fa about them yet still find a reason to moan or say what a bad signing they would be! 32 too old! i don't see man utd fans saying that about ryan giggs or paul scholes, birmingham about kevin phillips, others such as the "legendry" Paul Furlong. along with reid, wilkins, francis all played well into their late 30's. he is the captain of a world cup qualified team so he must have something about him
