getting stranded in the departures hall of a mexican airport is a disaster; a poor season for qpr is really just a case of same old, same old...

Blimey, the doom mongers are really out in force today.
One question for you boys. How the f**k do you know? How do you know what is in the boards plans? You dont. You are just in this downward spiral of depression about the club which is spreading like a cancer.
I agree expectations were too high but however bad this season was it was better than fighting relegation.

With clubs like WBA who will now have money behind them, adding to that the likes of possibly Middlesbrough plus one of either Newcastle, Hull or Sunderland coming down plus the teams who are already in this division (who don't go up as 2nd in the league or via the playoffs), there will not have been an easier season for us to get promoted. We have missed out big time and for the board not to recognise that or for the players not to have pushed themselves a little harder means it's a complete disaster. My fear and worry is because the board never backed the club in January, then what makes us feel this will change going into the new season!
Our strike for next season would be 66 years old if we sign Adebola (34), adding Helguson (who will be 32 at the start of next season). This season we have the worst goal scoring record in the division at 41 goals scored and that is against a lot of poor teams. Can you see those two firing 20+ goals next season? This division will only get stronger and I can’t see the likes of Vine, Buzz and Rowland’s adding anymore than 15 extra goals to that between them so where will the goals come from. Agyemang has never ever been prolific wherever he has been and he has also never managed more than 30 games a season either. Vine too probably won’t start upfront and also isn’t prolific either, so where will these goals come from? This area is a must to be strengthened!!
Cerny despite his critics has done well and deserves his spot but I expect a strong young keeper to come in to compete with Elvis as Cole and Crowther will be off in the summer.
Defensively we are strong. I am happy with Rambo as RB (if need be). I believe he has got over the southern blues he was suffering from. Therefore at worse case we would see Connolly at left back, however I strongly believe a left back will sign (Spur if GP can get him at a cut price) along with the young Chelsea lad. If that happens the Connolly will be shipped back to RB and then Rambo will cover there.
Onto the midfield... Think Legs will join Wolves for nice money and so I hope Lopez stays. That would leave Buzz, Routledge and Vine with Mahon, Rowlands, Miller (if he stays) and Hogan as cover, plus Adel if we get him on the season loan. Cookie needs to hit the ground running otherwise I seriously think he was a waste of money. Worried we need another ball winner and someone in the mould of Watson. And possibly another creative winger but who is the question!
Sorry to put a downer on it, as I love the hype and build up to a new season but I really believe a lot of our supporters watch a different team out there on a Saturday afternoon to me!
IMO you are gonna eat your words. And im not having a go, because im sure you would be the first to say i hope so. But just my opinion.Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Hardly a disaster! Disappointing?... Very! It's not as if we got relegated we are going to finish top half admittedly we should be doing better but the squad has improved. With the right manager next season (and at least they haven't just run out and got the first manager availabe they are taking there time) and some good addidtions in the summer we will be there othere abouts next season.
To assume three teams coming down will all do brilliantly is silly, usually at least one of them struggles and they are being relegated for a reason...they aren't good enough for the Prem. The best three teams in this division Wolves, Bham and Reading may all still go up so they would be out of the way!

I think you are over-estimating the quality of the Championship. We said how hard it would be this year with the teams coming down and Swansea et al coming up. It was't really. We competed with ALL the top teams and beat most of them. Yet, we still think we were crap - well, we were, but that marks my point. 4 more wins and we would be in the mix. And, to have achieved that didn;t necessarily need a 20+ goalscorer as to convert some of our many 0-0's to wins and gain 10 more points would only have taken 5 goals. Not much really is it?
We were NOT at the bottom, we DIDN'T go down. But we were God-awful most of the time. Yet, we finished comfortably mid-table.
Our biggest challenge won't be to go up - but to stay up.

Dazzer, I agree with most of what you say. Have only just seen you post now and without seeing it posted somehing similar on another thread. I agree that this season has been a disaster in terms of the instability at the club. But in terms of where we finished. I never expected us to finish much higher, All the same a good post.
EYR, I know exactly where you're coming from. Was saying a similar thing to someone earlier.

If Newcastle get relegated then players like Owen,Martins,Viduka, Smith etc will be off.
They aint gonna stay for sure.
Buzz and Vine back would make a difference as they both know where the Net is and add something extra to the team when on the field.
Nothing is wrong with the defence, we have not finished in the playoffs because we dont have a strikeforce.
If we dont get a decent striker in the summer then we can kiss goodbye to promotion until the owners finally realise that we need one.
