Let's say, hypothetically, you use your 10 million pounds, spend big, and win the league under Warnock. I'm not saying it's going to happen, (in fact I very much doubt it) but let's pretend that it just has.
The following season, in the Premiership, your players are going to look fairly good, but they've been told how to get out of the championship. Warnock doesn't have much experience in the Premiership, and he is a championship manager. Even though you may have some premiership-standard players, it would be almost certain that you would go down; because the teams already in the premiership would have the experience, (and better players) to stay up another season.
Warnock, without a doubt, is one of the best managers in the Championship. However, his downfall, is that he would definitely be one of the worst in the Premiership.
Got to say I think your spot on, NW is one of the best managers in the Championship, but in the Premier League he'd be one of the worst. Come on people lets be serious he'd be there right now if he was that great.
Have to say Mr Eagle has made some very good points and done it all in a very dignified manner. Please don't insult the man as you are only making yourself look like a **** not him.

Relegation specialist? So far, it seems not.
Warnock doesn't deserve anything, he's a bottler. He admitted in your local paper, he left because of the 10 point deduction. More potential? Don't make me laugh. You're (albeit pathetically) dubbed QPHahaha by quite a few clubs for a reason. Money doesn't make a club, and you're the perfect example. A bigger club? When was the last time you did anything meaningful? Ask anyone, they'll tell you that Palace are a bigger club. Remember, we're in the **** because of a points deduction. You're in the ****, because your team is pure ####.
On a side note, how is "the chosen one" doing so far? No wins in what, 7 games? Not looking good, is it?
Sorry to the rest of you, who appear to be quite nice people. I wish you the best of luck next season.
Hang on, what have palace acheived, a couple of seasons in the top league, a cup final appearance......thats it!!!
Lets look at what we have acheived.
About 18 seasons in the top league.
About six of those as Top London club.
Runners up to the league winners,. Liverpool.
Three appearances at wembley cup finals, winning one.
Qtr finals in Europe
Plus other seasons in Europe, third and second div champions.
That in my book is far more than palace have acheived, you dont even come close to us.They seek him here.................

Eagle, I apologise for some of the ruder remarks by certain fans. We will see about Warnock. By the sounds of it you are happier with Hart (who we all found dreadful) and we are happier with Warnock so no need to squabble.
Age old rows between supporters about which is the biggest club are always pretty impossible to decide on because every fan will shift the criteria to suit his own club. But I do get the impression that Palace fans have an even more inflated view of their own club than most other fans. I accept in recent years (last decade or so) you have done much better than us but as someone pointed out on here recently QPR have been London's top side for something like 7 of the last 38 years (I'm going from memory so figures are approx). We came within a half an hour of being crowned kings of England in 76 and in the 90s finished 5th and 4th in the top flight. And while Palace were nearly the team of the 80s the team Venables built at Loftus Rd (with many Palace players) was widely regarded by such authorities as Brian Glanvile etc as one of the most technically accomplished, well organised and swashbuckling sides England has ever produced.
Of course our record is nothing compared to an Arsenal or whatever but we are hardly QPHAHA. Indeed, if you want jokes - and this is meant in good spirit, not to be offensive - the same poster pointed out that if you type "top London club" and "Crystal Palace" into google you get offered some slightly iffy sarf London nightclubs. Apparently they have NEVER even finished the top club in London.
We can argue till the cows come home about who is a bigger or better club but I certainly think it wd just make a Palace fan a bit silly if they started going about claiming they were a much bigger club than us. If you asked, say, a West Ham fan he wd prob say we were much of a much-ness, both in the poo but with us looking to have the more promising future.
Anyway, see you Saturday...

End of the day in terms of achievement we have done more but lets get real here we have been a crock of s.hite for 15 years and we sound like those silly Liverpool fans who bang on about 18 League Titles despite not winning the bloody thing in 20 years if we start entering this d1ck measuring contest.Last edited by W12_Ranger; 08-04-2010, 08:36 PM.

Whether Warnock wd be a good premier league manager is quite an esoteric discussion at this stage when we are currently flirting with relegation to League One. But hypothetically if we were promoted I cd see a scenario where he was booted upstairs to a DOF role and a younger, perhaps Continental coach was brought in. Still, pure speculation at this stage...
