Poses a question though doesn't it.
If you were a transfer target for another club and before you join them you play them and beat them as a result of your efforts you are going damage your own prospects for next season.
All very speculative of course, but it is a dichotomy for that potential player

I'm a Palace fan here and would just like to know why you all seem to think Warnock can just pick and choose what players he is going to sign from us in the summer?
I know many of the Palace players really well so lets go through some of your targets and see how plausible it is.
Speroni - Very committed to Palace, stuck with the club during his hard times with us when he first joined, took him 4 years to get the number 1 spot and is now being rewarded, he loves Palace and i know for a fact he will only leave if Palace said they wanted him to leave which they don't or if a Premier League club came in for him, he would cost around £3million at least. However, Speroni continues to state he would be happy to spend the rest of his career at Palace.
Clyne - Still young but potentially an England international in the making, again is happy at Palace and turned down a move to Wolves in January. If he leaves it will be for a Premiership club, also he felt very let down by Warnock's decision to leave Palace. Would also cost around £2 million.
Danns - Another player who refused to leave in January when an offer was made, totally settled and committed to Palace, he has said on numerous occasions that he has no intentions in leaving, was also very let down by Warnock's decision to leave Palace. Value would be around £1-1.5million.
Ambrose - Having his best season at a club in his career, out of all the players though i believe he could be the one who we may lose, however, he is very happy at Palace and it wasn't just a case of him being happy whilst Warnock was here, Warnock got him playing again but since Warnock has left Darren has continued to played well, if he was to leave again i would imagine it would cost around £1.5-2million mark.
So, it's ok ther papers saying he is going to sign 4 from us, in all honesty i would be surprised if he gets 1 or 2 at the very best. If he wants all 4 then he will have to pay a fairly hefty transfer fee to get them all. Let's not forget aswell there is no guarantee currently of what divison either team will be in next season. Also, our takeover is due to be completed in the coming weeks and the new owners certainly won;t want to start letting our best players leave.

We've been too guilty of leaving things to the last minute lately. This not only gives the team less time to bond, but also makes it harder for the other teams to find a replacement which means persuading them to let us buy the players will be far more difficult. Just look at the way we 'bid' for Hooper last time round.Your mum would love me...

It's called transfer rumours. They happen at every club and it's not unknown for a manager to take players from a previous club. Just look at Venables.
I know many of the Palace players really well so lets go through some of your targets and see how plausible it is.
Well done...So does Warnock.
No you don't know for a 'fact' as money talks. How many times in the past have you heard a player say he wants to stay, only to go very soon after? We know that feeling all too well mate.
Clyne - Still young but potentially an England international in the making, again is happy at Palace and turned down a move to Wolves in January. If he leaves it will be for a Premiership club, also he felt very let down by Warnock's decision to leave Palace. Would also cost around £2 million.
I think there are a few young Prem fullbacks ahead of him in the pecking order. Yet another example of fans over-hyping their players. Yet another thing QPR fans know all about. And why would anyone want to go to Wolves who are hardly guarenteed to stay in the Prem long-term?
Danns - Another player who refused to leave in January when an offer was made, totally settled and committed to Palace, he has said on numerous occasions that he has no intentions in leaving, was also very let down by Warnock's decision to leave Palace. Value would be around £1-1.5million.
No point in highlighting as Danns is one I'm certain would like to join NW.
Again, another player who probably prefers his old manager. Ambrose has had more clubs than Tiger Woods, so don't expect any loyalty there chap.
So, it's ok ther papers saying he is going to sign 4 from us, in all honesty i would be surprised if he gets 1 or 2 at the very best. You've been due take-overs for a little while now. P-Diddy being the more amusing.Your mum would love me...

At the end of the day money talks. Warnock was committed to you lot but we offered him more money so he came. Your older players like Speroni and Ambrose would see a move to QPR as a chance to earn themselves one last big contract before they retire.
You guys need the money at the moment and IF you went down, then I couldn't see those players staying. Suffice to say, I think Sheff Wed will go down having saw them play last week and their run in. But if we lose to you boys on Sat we are deep in the brown stuff.First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Yeah the £10 million and those names don't add up at all. I would be surprised if we get Adel, extremely surprised. He cannot be happy playing in a team that's told to hoof it. If I were him, and not a biassed QPR fan, I'd want to play in a league where teams get the ball down.
Out of those, Speroni would be fantastic, and Hooper looks to be a poacher. I would still prefer Shane Long who has been the best forward I have seen in this division. Could we prise him away?
