Comes down to basics and loyalties Palace dave.

We do have money and you don't.

Adminstrators have done a good job giving you a good chance of staying up by holding onto your players. Palace are not out of the woods yet and even talk of further points deduction like Southampton.

Half the reason why these players are playing so well is they want to be in shop window. No loyalty in football nowadays, we've been in adminstration and had financial difficulties, thats when you see the players leave for better offers.

    Thats life, thats football.

The only thing with all this talk about players we are after is the present lot will know they have no future with us. They could stop trying and the loans won't care, they will be going back to their own clubs. We need to stay in this division before we start thinking who we want for next season.

I cant see Taraabt will come. Neither Simpson. Just a gutfeeling.

Anyway, I think we will have a good team at our hands season next. Players which wouldnt be that easy to outmuscle and more importantly they will be ours.

I think he may be saying he wants 9 players but he would be letting some go to some on tranfer and others free. On this and possible couple loans and those out contact at clubs we could spend 10 mill on few players

you are forgetting the 10 point deduction and the associated cost cuts etc etc they would be in the top 8 otherwise, there are good players there who clearly played well under warnock, gathering the best from the ccc has to be the way to go rather than kids and has beens from the premier league. speroni, clyne, are definately better than what we have, ambrose, probably, so there is no problem cherry picking from other teams where possible.

I know many of the Palace players really well so lets go through some of your targets and see how plausible it is.

Speroni - Very committed to Palace, stuck with the club during his hard times with us when he first joined, took him 4 years to get the number 1 spot and is now being rewarded, he loves Palace and i know for a fact he will only leave if Palace said they wanted him to leave which they don't or if a Premier League club came in for him, he would cost around £3million at least. However, Speroni continues to state he would be happy to spend the rest of his career at Palace.

Clyne - Still young but potentially an England international in the making, again is happy at Palace and turned down a move to Wolves in January. If he leaves it will be for a Premiership club, also he felt very let down by Warnock's decision to leave Palace. Would also cost around £2 million.

Danns - Another player who refused to leave in January when an offer was made, totally settled and committed to Palace, he has said on numerous occasions that he has no intentions in leaving, was also very let down by Warnock's decision to leave Palace. Value would be around £1-1.5million.

Ambrose - Having his best season at a club in his career, out of all the players though i believe he could be the one who we may lose, however, he is very happy at Palace and it wasn't just a case of him being happy whilst Warnock was here, Warnock got him playing again but since Warnock has left Darren has continued to played well, if he was to leave again i would imagine it would cost around £1.5-2million mark.

So, it's ok ther papers saying he is going to sign 4 from us, in all honesty i would be surprised if he gets 1 or 2 at the very best. If he wants all 4 then he will have to pay a fairly hefty transfer fee to get them all. Let's not forget aswell there is no guarantee currently of what divison either team will be in next season. Also, our takeover is due to be completed in the coming weeks and the new owners certainly won;t want to start letting our best players leave.
My God, I hate Palace and always have - sibling rivalry as older brother loves the red and blue poo. BUT, Dave's post is a sensible one.

Palace are unlikely to lose ALL of their players and there will be some form of togetherness and loyalty there. Let's be honest, when did you see the best team spirit at QPR in the last ten years? Olly had f-all, but pulled it all together and his limited squad over-performed for at least one season pushed on by this spirit.

We, on the other hand, have had nothing but false promises over the last few years; yes, we have money, but look at where that's got us. To be fair, I'm convinced that Palace will beat us this weekend by something to nil and that they will finish above us this season even with the ten point penalty; I hope I'm wrong, I really do.

If Palace fell into a bucket of compost, they'd come up smelling of roses, whereas if we fell into a bucket of ####, we'd come out sucking our thumbs. This is based on the following:

Palace came out of their first Administration cutting a deal with their creditors, like every other club bar one has done, whereas we managed to exit Administration owing more than when we went in. They have gone into a second Administration and will come out of it with a similar deal.

All this talk of new players is just bloody ridicuous. We are NOT safe (far from it) and I really think that the writings on the wall...

I've got to be honest, I think some of you are getting a little too big for your own boots.
First of all, you're not even safe yet! Beat us on Saturday, and you can talk about next season.

Second, the players that Warnock apparently wants to sign have been offered Premiership deals. Rest assured, if Ambrose, Clyne or Speroni want to find a new club (which is a doubt in itself) it will be a club in the premiership.

Third, you're talking about building a side that doesn't support your type of play? Neil Warnock is a manager who specialises in 1 nil victories. He will be looking to bring in a target man, and some players who understand long ball. You will NOT play pretty football, and the players you are so confident of getting don't really suit that style of play. How happy will Taraabt be, when he's told that he needs to play 40 yard hoofs to succeed?

Finally, Warnock does NOT have a good transfer record when given lots of money. With Palace, he bought Nick Carle; based on the performance of two play-off games. Carle is a great player, but didn't suit Warnock's long ball tactic. Since Warnock's departure, he has looked brilliant. While he was here? Absolute ****.
Any club managed by Warnock will tell you, he likes to play the underdog, with his back against a wall, little to no money, and a committed, small squad. That is NOT what you look to be building.

This is not a dig at your fans at all, it's just my thoughts. I think you should be more realistic, because at the moment, your club is not a great target for new players. E.g. If you were Darren Ambrose, would you rather go to a club like Stoke or Sunderland, or QPR? Wake up for a few minutes, and consider your situation. Just calm down, and realise; you're not out of the **** yet; not by a long shot.

P.s. Warnock really does enjoy hoofball. I would not be surprised if he brings in 2 target men, some massive midfielders who can't pass (but can kick a ball VERY hard) and some strong, viscous defenders (e.g. Morgan).

If you read it, thanks. And safe travel on Saturday, whether you win or lose ;)

                            Eagle interesting read.

However surely you have to give the man some praise for bringing in some exciting skillful youth players? Clyne is a fine example. I saw you take on Aston Villa and you played great passing football. R u sure your a Palace fan and NOT a sheff utd fan?
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Eagle, to be fair some of what you said is true, but find me a club with supporters who are realists in the main? We have been promised time after time that we'll spend big and it's yet to happen. This season however, I honestly feel we'll change. We'll spend and we can go for some of your players. Clyne will be dificult, as will Speroni, but Danns and Ambrose are two very realistic targets. Both having a their best season by far and neither are good enough for a decent Prem side, so 'IF' we can persuade them we are serious and that we'll be going fro promotion next season...Why not chose us over a Hull or a Bolton who could easilly go down next season, if not this?

And Warnock DOESN'T always play that 'hoofball' style. He's a manager who utilises what he has best and in fairness had you playing some very good football this season...Surely you cannot deny that. You know you've lost a very able manager. One of the best in this league. I assure you, I've maintained this way before we signed him. I've always admired his ability to get the best out of a player. Every arguement has two sides, and you're bound to look for the negative whilst I, naturally will look for the plus sides.

I also agree...We're far from out of it, but even of we do lose on Saturday, it's hardly the end of the road as we just need to win out game in hand (granted, easier said and all that) and we're back ahead of you.

I think it's safe to say that neither of us, nor Wednesday have an easy run in. It could go either way, but let's be honest, you guys need the win more that us which is why I'm more worried about Saturdays game. I know your boys are commited and that you'll come out of the blocks at 100 miles per hour. It's just a question of whether or not our boys have the balls to match that effort?

It's no secret that I hate Palace with a passion, but I do admire your spirit. My hatred isn't the type that wants to see you go under. I want you to stay up so as the rivalry is still there for next season. I won't lie...losing Saturday will be a sickener for me, so I'm hoping for a win as I still think you'll stay up.

Anyway, good to see you can have a reasoned debate.
                              Your mum would love me...

Palace as a whole have brought in some exciting skillful youth players; it's something we're well known for. Our team seem to really turn it on when we're on TV, but the Villa game was phenomenal. We've been playing similarly to that in recent weeks, Paul Hart definitely prefers a passing game. Unfortunately, we occasionally played some real dross under Warnock. I think the players realised that we couldn't just hoof it, because their defenders were stronger than ours!

As mentioned before, we were the underdogs in that game, and played much better because of it. Sadly, you only need to look at games like our 4-0 defeat to Scunny at home, to highlight the flaws in the long ball tactic. They really passed us off the pitch that day, and Warnock was heard shouting to hoof it up top on numerous occasions; despite the players really wanting to pass it around. Under Warnock, players tend to play in fear of getting a massive #######ing for doing something wrong. Some players respond to that, but a lot of others don't. It's an interesting management style, but I'm not sure that your "10 new signings" will all fit in with it. I'll repeat it again, Warnock does well as an underdog with a tight budget, not in the Man City, "money coming out of our arses" way of doing things.
