Not true...

adidas been in talks with 2 other London clubs, as have Nike. There are also deals to be done with UK distributors exclusive of the parent company. This is how clubs like Fulham and Southend get Nike and Peterborough and Macclesfield get adidas.

Each deal considered on its own merits.

My understanding is that the lotto deal was their biggest outside of Fiorentina; was a max 5 year deal with both parties being able to mutually terminate at a midway point with no contractual fall out.

I had the red and black managers coat which was about 5 sizes to big for me but i insisted and my dad bought it.

I still get stick for it now and it got a mantion in a wedding speech a few years back..!!

The good thing about the influence (and to a lesser extent the short lived Brookes) sponsorship deals was the fact that you could spot rangers at away games even if they weren't wearing colours. The non-rangers spin off clobber got so popular that you could tell someone was rangers if they had an influence coat on. I don't thin any non-Ranger ever bought one. This was actually pretty handy on occasion. I remember in particular when we had Blackpool away in the cup and West London migrated up there for the weekend and no colours were allowed in any of the pubs. But you could still spot who your "friends" were and weren't from the presence of the influence clobber. I don't wear colours so this was right up my street. Though I admit I 've still got the fluoro shirt somewhere.
