  • What has happened to Legs?

OK, I'm not going to slate the guy. I'm one of those who have always defended him. Have long admired his athleticism and tackling which wd not disgrace a Premiership player. OK, so his distribution has long let him down but I thought in a team of lazy fancy Dans he did a good job. But have to say lately I've been growing more frustrated with him. He didn't even seem to try that hard today and his passing really was terrible. He covered about half the ground he was in a match early in the season. Faurlin had to hold the centre midfield together on his own.
Some at the players forum commented that the body language between Legs and the manager was not good. Legs is one of the few players at our club who actually seems to be playing a lot worse under Warnock. Has he been told he doesn't have a future next season? If so I'd give the captaincy to Faurlin who you can see really cares, gets stuck in, gets upset when a move breaks down and at least is a good role model - skillful and hardworking.

One of the biggest disappointments this season, really doesn't look the part any more. Defo not captain material.

dont rate him an never have really, dont think he is a very bad player he is just VERY average in everything he does.

I have made a point in watching him closely in the last few games and he is great at turning attack into defence the number of daft balls he gives away is shocking.

Think it was about 2 months ago I saw Legs bust a gut about 30 yard sprint to support the right back and eventually winning the ball back. That's why I quite like the guy. Doesn't do the stuff that will earn him a baying crowd but it's important. Today I saw the exact same scenario and instead he strolled back and the subsequent cross gave the guy a free header (the chance they didnt score!)... I think he knows something we don't.

always thought him 'average/poor'....warnock never rated him at the blades so id doubt he's here long term......mahon/rowly if fit much better players!

Hallelujah! Some of you are starting to see the light. Another poor performance from our 'captain.' His passing and distribution which is so essential for a midfielder is shocking. We just won't move forward and progress as a team with him in the side.

Agree. As I have consistently stated, the fact that *someone* at the club felt it appropriate to give him a new
contract when the ownership and management of the club were in limbo is quite staggering.

And some on here defended that decision...

I think if an offer came in for him we could sell him

Buzz should play in Legs' position for the rest of the season alongside Faurlin who has really blossomed. Then we might see us play better and more balanced football, plus get some goals from midfield. Buzz is reasonable at defending too, much more so than people give credit for. Just because he doesn't dive into big tackles does not mean he isn't good at holding his position and keeping shape, which are much more important in centre midfield, especially these days.

As for captain, I have an inkling it'll be a new player.
