If we are truly serious about getting promotion next season, we have to buy him.

Problem is, by each excellent pefromance he is increasing his value.

Ultimately it will come down to what the player wants, hopefully Warnock would have done enough to convince him to stay if we table a bid by the end of the season?

            I think you're wrong.
I think the two things which are motivating him at the moment are i) good man management from a manager he obviously respects and ii) a real zest and enthusiasm for playing football -- it's written all over his face. He's the sort of player who would love a kickabout in the park as much as a cup final.

It would be great to get him but we can't blow half of our transfer budget on one player. We need to improve in so many areas. We can't become a one man team, because if Taarabt got injured the team as a whole would be weakened to much. It would be better if we were a well balanced team with good quality players in all areas.

The fee and wages wont be a problem ,it's getting Taarabt to sign , i think that will increase the more Warnock works on him

Ok this will upset a few but if his position is as a 2nd striker, can someone please remind me how many goals Taraabt has scored? 4.5M and 30k a week for a player that has 4 goals this season. Is that really value for money. I know this will upset most but sounds like that would be 50% of our budget so it is a question that needs an answer. I really rate the lad I understand he is quality but he doesn't score enough for me.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

                    spot on Pedro

                    so do the deal now

if we have him next season, our chances of going up would be a lot easier then without him

Weareqpr12................ I don't think he should be used as a second striker, this would restrict his overall contribution to the team. I think he should be given a more free roll behind the strikers to weave his magic.

4.5 is alot of cash, i reckon we would be able to knock them down to 3 million.

                          Totally agree.
And the amount of assists would justify the fee -- it's then up to other players to put them away.

I do not think he has an ambition to stay with us next season anyway. He is using us as a bridge to go further step up.

If anything he will attract offers from the newly promoted and the lower echelons of the prem. Why stay in the Championship for another season when he can have Premiership football?

If he's one of the best players in this league he does not belong in it. I can't see us hanging on to him.
