  • So Borrowdale...

Gone to Charlton so what happens if Hill is injured? Strange move.

Suppose Warnock would sooner play a Centre Back out of position that play Borrowdale at Left Back!

He's an RB and I think we've surpassed the number of loans under the age of 23 for the season?!

I am disappointed. I actually think he is a player we need.

I noticed Warnock on MoTD on sunday night, he was commenting on Fulhams defending at Man Utd.
He highlighted their full back (Baird, I think?)... and commented on the way he didn't close down the crosses from Utd on a few occasions.
His exact words were, "it does my head in, that sort of thing".

Borrowdale is a good footballer, with a good 1st touch and passes well. But he has that annoying habit of backing off his man, not getting in the face of his winger and stopping crosses. And he's slow.

Just putting the comments of NW together with what I've seen of him as a defender, and he has no chance at QPR under Warnock.

That's all well and good in the summer but now while have no cover is questionable?

                    The timing does seem odd.

I suppose Connolly can (and has) play at LB, if needed. But yes, it leaves us a bit short on cover at the back.

Connolly can and Ramage can play there too (albeit quite badly). And with Leigertwood capable of playing at RB, it may be that Warnock is happy with that. Then again, perhaps he has spotted a youth or reserve defender at QPR who he feels can do a better job at LB than Borrowdale. And we all know Warnock likes to give young players a chance.

That's a good point. I am really good mates with Baird's agent, so Warnock better not have devalued him!!

Warnock has Matt Hill and he is doing well.

Last season we had Delaney, who wasn't very good for us

Generally have similar opinions to yourself Pete, but Hill isn't doing well for us at all.

He is a liability at left back, and while I hold no blame towards him for the penalty at Reading (he was unlucky), he hasn't pulled up any trees since he has been with us.

Won't knock his effort and enthusiasm, but he isn't a good player. Would be gutted if I had to endure a full season of him next year.
