  • Reading-wow! We Can Learn From Them

I have to say although I have been to the Madjeski a few times it was more a boozing session then into the ground at 5 to 3 but last night went with a couple of pals so got up their about 6.30 and had a chance to have a good mooch about. I have to say if Rangers were to ever build a new ground/compex I think the madjeski is a perfect blueprint for us, we could take a lot of ideas from their set up as to us it was highly impressive.

From the superb stadium that it is @ 25,000 perfect for us to the vast amount of land they sit on which holds car parks, hotels, indoor training centre for players, megastore to name but a few. Straight off the M4. The corporate facilities were unbelievable considering i've never read about them considering the song & dance we heard about our own. It really is a Premiership set up & after hearing the BBC site on wood lane/South Africa Rd could soon be available suerly this is an idea that has to be considered? Maybe we've made enquiries i'm not sure.

Anyone have any views on this? or other grounds we could learn from? As much as I love Loftus Rd its more of a nostalgia thing & truth is we need to be looking at clubs like this as an example of where we can go.

Wasn't soulless from where I was sitting. we were out sung. Besides i'm talking about the set up not the people inside it. Loftus Rd is hardly raising the roof these days is it...

To be fair, they create noise.

It holds atmousphere, and that's what we need.

I think its a cracking little ground.

Very different to what we have so its hard to imagine us playing in such a stadium, but i wouldnt be against having similar.

The Madjeski and the Stadium of Light are the best of the "new build" stadia by a mile. I believe it was voted the best mid sized stadium in Europe last season.

As Scott says, the only downfall is that is in the middle of nowhere. Premier League still use it for meetings etc. despite Reading being relegated 2 years back.

QPR down. So i don't want to learn anything from reading at all
Don't think you actually read the thread we are talking about the stadium & the set up but hey thanx all the same for your input!

Read the post. This has nothing whatsoever to do with the football. It's the stadium in question.

Still, you'll get your chance to tell Paulo you 'hate his guts' next week. What a nasty man.

Rubbish parking, shuttle buses wtf is that all about, queue for the toilet put Ellerslie Road to shame and the food kiosk was no different.

What you basically saying is we should move to Heathrow and give up everything which makes our ground so great.

No thanks, all I want is better leg room.

Who mentioned Heathrow? Thought I said BBC site??!

Shuttle bus would not be needed if we acquire BBc site.

Food kiosk I cannot comment on as I was sitting behind the dug out & it was very efficient and fast moving.

Plenty of toilets straight in & out.

Plenty of leg room & actually had padded seats(not sure if this is all round the ground or just their).

Soooooo maybe you are judging it on the away section which would be of no concern to us if it was our home ground.
