To be fair it's Reading, so let's not be fair ...it's yet another souless bowl of a ground miles out of town on a business park! ...no thanks I'd rather we built something like Sampdoria's ground with 4 proper sides ...horrible stadium, horrible location, horrible club ....looking forward to them following Norwich & Southampton out of this division when they lose their parachute payments next season ...at least their 5 mins of fame will be over and they will then be playing at their true level!

Personally Jim I agree. But from what I hear & have been told that's an absolute non starter,we cannot touch Ellerslie so where else can we expand? I'm talking about it all being in 1 location, training facilities, parking, hotels, shops etc not to mention a stunning new ground. Have always said stay at LR but don't think we will progress there. I remember Elm Park Readings old ground what a dive the comparison now is unbelievable.

Shuttle bus would not be needed if we acquire BBc site.

Food kiosk I cannot comment on as I was sitting behind the dug out & it was very efficient and fast moving.

Plenty of toilets straight in & out.

Plenty of leg room & actually had padded seats(not sure if this is all round the ground or just their).

Soooooo maybe you are judging it on the away section which would be of no concern to us if it was our home ground.
BBC Land is worth £300 million so it is never going to happen.

Unigate (Probable) or Wormwood Scrubs (very doubtful).

I only have the away section to judge it on but facilities in stadiums like that are normally homogeneous.

You must remember we are in Central London hence the Heathrow quote as space is something which is in shortfall around here.

Someone once posted up on here a ground we should copy which was like a modern version of our own but I can't remember which in Europe.

Please tell me where you have seen £300M quoted? I have heard on a few occasions we are interested in this site, if its going to be sold someone will acquire will they not?

Your Heathrow quote is simply your opinion I don't think we will ever go down that route.

BBC & Unigate dairy site are more than viable for our needs.

Also can I just point out some ppl are going off topic here because they hate Reading, sorry we are not actually talking about that, we are talking about the idea of a new QPR stadium & making comparisons to the Madjeski. Ta

Have you seen the size and location of the BBC plot, check a map, its prime real estate.

I know someone who works for H&F Council and they gave me that figure.

Again I will say we have some of the wealthiest owners in the world & have heard from reliable sources the idea has defo been mooted. This coming from another ccc clubs director not a bin man from West Ken! just jesting. Who knows eh? If you were to ask me the solution is sitting right on our doorstep.

its a lovely stadium, been there a few times now. dunno how people can say its a souless bowl?! i would love a stadium like that... anyone who says they wouldnt is surely off their head and yeah youre right it is up to the fans as to whether or not it becomes a "souless bowl" or not. jesus there was more atmosphere there than at loftus road these days......

Unigate would cost a fraction of the price by comparison.

i think the madjeski is actually a decent new stadium that comes across soulless because of its out of town location and the fact its full of plastics priicks, a madjeski type stadium in or around shepherds bush would have a completely different feel.
the madjeski is quite unique in the fact it can be expanded bye approx 10.000 by simply sitting another tier on top, it was designed for this from new and if you look around the outer concourse it has large steel plates spread around the floor, these are anchorage points for an extra tier and this can be done from start to finish during the close season, a little bit over ambitious by john madjeski but still very clever.

I did notice that and it did make me question it.

I think Hull City fans are convince they can do the same with the KC but I've met the Structural Engineer who worked on the design for the stadium and he said you can't lol.

Personally I think The Madejski is a half decent stadium and I agree if you whacked it in Central London it would have a different feel entirely.

But I am in favour in 2 tiers all the way around instead of single tiered stands.
