Good support, good vocals, and a real good showing from the boys.
A few points which in the end, decided the conclusion of the game.
1. Reading fans shouted, screamed, appealed for every decision, no matter how tame or bad it was. In the end (after 20 mins or so) the ref, totally out of his depth, gave in, giving them free kick after free kick, decision after decision, booking every half hard challenge by a rangers player, yet ignoring Tabb poleaxing Faurlin and Ingimarsson clearly pulling back Adel.
2. Width - we clearly lacked width - Hogan, nice and tidy, neat touches, but has no penetration, no real end product. We need our wingers to provide width and beat the man, get crosses in. Whilst Hogan is a good squad player, I don't feel he is the man for our wingers job. With Cook and Buzz on the bench, they would have provided much more width and a greater threatto the opposing team!
3. Priskin - Whilst I don't think he's as bad as most of you lot make out, he should NOT be signed, or now in the team ahead of German/Buzz/Cook. A lot of his flicks and hold up play went unoticed, yet fans jump straight on his back, soon as he doesnt win a ball.
4. Subs: Not sure why Colin left it till 81 minutes to make a sub with Priskin, knackered and Hogan ineffective. Would be screwing if I were Buzz. Yet in Warnock we trust so I won't complain.
5. As Pete said we need 4/5 quality players to mount any type of challenge next season, as yesterday, no threat up front and no creativity.
6. Is it me or has Simpson lost that clinical finishing touch he has had most of the season. Yesterday Adel laid him in with an absolute glorious ball, out side of the foot, behind the last defender, one touch and BANG, should have been a goal, yet Simpson, took an awful touch 6 yards out and lost the chance.. Come on Jay, need to be more clinical if we are to sign you permanently.
All in all, very happy as at least the lads showed some real effort and with a few additions we will be fine.
