Well done Chris + QPR for proving that we are on our way to becoming the proud club we always were.
Also thanks to G.P for taking the time and effort to help
As one who has been critical, I'll say only this and it is tongue in cheek before you all start your moaning - its nice to see that he really does excel at the meet and greet role that I have always advocated he should have - long may that role continue if he performs consistently like this.
As for a club of BTFC's standing getting in financial trouble; just how screwed up is football? How can a club at that level get into a position of having tens of thousands of pounds of debt? Did your previous regime gamble on getting promoted or have you consistently just spent above your means?
Going to hell in a hand cart methinks...
Relegation, Players wages, staff wages, lack of home games in the winter due to the weather, Rent for the ground, the list goes on to where the money go's.
Due to our league position this year,& relegation from the Southern League a few years back, fans are staying away. When the wages stop most of the squad went else where, I haven't been paid for months (to be fair I was the first to volunteer to play for free so I aint complaining) so without the good senior players who left after the wages stopped, we are struggling to get back up the table. So at the moment fans are staying away so not a lot of income from attendances.
All this adds up and we are in the mess which we are in. There is no Arab or Indian in Buckingham to bail us out, the club is run by hard working honest local folk.
Buckingham have recently suffered with financial problems due to the 'credit crunch' and the harsh winter which has led to many of our home games being postponed which in itself has caused losses in funds. The club has been unable to pay bills or rent for the stadium, the players & staff have had to go unpaid for a couple months now, and recently the landlord/bailiffs have closed the ground completely. The club is around £6,000 to £10,000 in debt, and this has to be paid by July or the club will be forced to close. As a massive QPR fan (my family down the generations also) I have seen the hard times when QPR were close to going out of business. It was not a nice feeling as a fan, and I would hate to see the good local people of Buckingham go through the same pain and lose their local club.
Firstly, well done to GP and QPR for trying to help out a small non-league club.
Secondly, the debt seems quite small for a club to have to close down.
I would think that the players at QPR alone, could donate a £100 each and it wouldn't even make much of an impact in their wallets, but would reduce that debt substantially.
If the club raffles a couple of signed hirts and perhaps even a couple of seats in the CC area for the game against Swansea, Sheff Wed, and maybe even the Newcastle game, that would probably come very close to wiping out the debt.

It is owed in rent I believe, the ground is not owned by the club. We were locked out last week by the bailiffs until they reached an agreement with BTFC that all rent must be paid by July. It is a small debt I agree, but a debt that could wipe out a 127 year old club. So just doing my bit to help raise it.
Actually - all joking aside, this is the sort of publicity that Gianni should be putting out there in the public (?) Not being a massive Gianni fan this is a good thing he has done for your club and a good gestureby QPR.
Trouble is....he is dammed if he does and dammed if if he doesn't
Excellent to see the club doing something to help. Doubt you would have got the same response a month back.
Do you think there would be a chance of the club getting a QPR XI down in pre-season. Went to the Hayes and Yeading match last year and there must have been 4-500 there paying £5 each (I think) plus at least as much in the bar before and at the food kiosks.
And you never know, Robsoninho might get his big break
very good news it went so well chris....just shows what can be done with the right communication......good luck with the rest of the venture to save your team.
big thanks also goto the club for proving we still can be a family club who cares.

I think the clubs will discuss this further down the line after QPR sort everything. As a thank you it's the least BTFC can do, to invite a youth reserve QPR team down for a friendly. And as you said a good crowd. We had 1,500 for MK dons last season, so I am gueesing QPR can double that.
My gaffa did joke, that we should send a signed BTFC shirt to QPR to put up at loftus rd
