  • Fair play to lee cook (nicked from LFW)

"during the warm up the players where taking free kicks at Cherney. Lee Cook sent one power drive fizing just over the bar and hit smacked a little lad full on the face and knocked him flying.

Obviously in tears and and shock the little boy was in some pain. Lee came running over to him to talk and apologise I guess.

At the final whistle Lee made a bee-line for this boy , took off his shirt, gave it to him and had another little chat.

    What a star man"

Yeah the problem was, the boy was a sheff utd fan, only joking
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I remember seeing John Carew do the same a few weeks back. Good effort from players who do this.

The much-maligned Richard Langley did ths at Peterborough a few years back.

I was very close to where the little lad was sitting yesterday, Cookie couldn't get into the stand quick enough to help him.
It's a shame all footballers are judged by the actions of Terry, Bowyer, Ashley Cole, etc., most of them are decent blokes.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

If it was Diouf he would probably have laughed and gobbed at the kid.

Cookie's a nice lad, a credit to himself, a credit to the club.

                      Lee.

If it was Diouf the lad would have told him to stick his shirt up his Johnny Ayris (Hammer will remember him )

In truth Swanley - things like this are rarely reported by the media as they do not sell papers.A bit like real life i suppose.

Watched a programme some months back about Aston Villa and amount of time the players spent visiting local hospitals...and they looked genuinely interested.
