    look everyone knows

look everyone knows i love gianni but the most important part of managers doing well at rangers is there ability to buy and sell players

warnocks greatest asset is his ability to improve players, hes already said his suad is good enough, that is the strength of this man he can get an average player and turn them into a superstar not since venables have we had a genius like warnock

silly thread designed by original poster to generate an argument

GP by his own admision did not properly scout Faurlin, we went to see him on the basis of a recommendation, Faurlin got sent of but GP took a punt. Good business on this occasion as Faurlin is more than useful and despite all the noise made by the club when he signed leading supporters to think we had "invested" heavily he appears to have cost us ****** all

however to point to Faurlin as an example of GP's scouting ability is a pretty poor effort and what it reveals about the decision making process when signing players goes a long way to explaining the absolute donkeys that we have also ended up with in recent years.

Scouting talented players is one thing. Knowing what to do with them is what makes managers great. Our season went off the rails at Doncaster when Magilton dropped Taarabt and then took Faurlin off at half time.
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are...

Why am i trying to cause an argument ? Just saying that I believe he has a far better eye for a player than some of our fans would lead you to believe. Also where did i "point to Faurlin as an example" ?

I have said all along, that having seen the team in October and then again in January that there could not be that much wrong with our team because essentially they were the same group of players and i believe that i am being proved right. This team will return to the levels of last October and the guy who a lot of people have been slating will receive little thanks. That's essentially what this email is.

          No arguments required.

Yes, he has done a brilliant job. everyone can see that. the unprecedented success we've enjoyed this season is down to GP. we havent wasted any money on **** players and long contracts, thats just a myth made up by people intent on smearing Giannis good name. along with the myth that we have signed around 50 players since the takeover, with only half a dozen of those turning out to be good signings. someone with a really vivid imagination made that one up.

the success of GP has been proved since the new chairman came in. gianni did such a good job, he has been told to crack on doing more of the same.

I really do believe some fans unfairly give Gianni a hard time re his signings when the real truth is that he has signed some very good players. The same group of players that were being walked over just a few weeks ago. The problem has quite clearly been with the managers. Maybe we may have seen a different Ben Watson had Warnock been here when he came.

Anyhow, well done Gianni. You do get a lot of stick but just want you to know that there are others out there who appreciate your efforts.

If you actually think Paladini receiving phone calls from agents equates to scouting your having a laugh. You'd have to hope out of something like 47 transfers there would be a few good one's in there.

A friend of mine is Jay Simpson's agent, he phoned the club up and offered the club Simpson on loan I can only imagine this is how it has worked for numerous other signings. I also have a pretty good idea on how he assembled De Canios signings in Jan 2008. I would hardly consider that process scouting.

Lets be fair you, me or any other QPR fan could have blindly assembled a group of players the way Paaldini has. How do you justify signing 5 CB's and no FB's for 2 years or replacing Blackstock with Pellicori.

Truth is Paladini made an absolute mess of his role as DoF and had to resign as a result. I'm not interested in Anti Paladini rants here just the facts so stop talking piffle.

Conners, no disrespect but anyone with an ounce of footballing knowledge could of put together the squad we have got.
In my opinion, a scout will go and watch games and pick up players who have raw talent and the potential to improve under the right guidance.

Connolly, faurlin and ephraim are the only players in my opinion who could fit into that bracket. What gianni has assembled is a squad of players who have failed to get a regular first team place at their previous clubs.

Just out of interest does anyone know what the required qualifications are to become a scout?

Good point Stanley76, I would assume the bare minimum requirement should be a FA coaching badge.

Its a shame he was DOF when "recommending" these players and not a scout

Surely no one would disagree with that?

The problem has not been a lack of talent, but the turmoil caused by the incompetence of the club's management. Look at how often the managers and coaching staff have changed. It's no wonder the players have been all over the place.
