what he did was terrible, but when it comes to what he does on the pitch, thats different. if neil thinks hes the man to lead the line, then im with him and he'll get my full support on the pitch

I can't see there being any substance in this, I think it's just paper talk!
King is still in prison and has probably not kicked a ball or trained properly for the best part of a year. Even if he was to come out tomorrow it would take him another month to get himself to match fitness.
