Priskin - a bit of balance
I was there when Tamas made his debut - awaful, woeful, uninterested, lazy and so on and so on.
What made it worse was he "played" up front with Bent so in effect there was always 4 goal posts in Peterboroughs half.
It seems obvious now that for TP to be rated by many fans he will need to consistently beat 4 players and rifle 25 yarders into the net.
He's been getting dogs abuse from some sections last 2 games - a bit unwarranted I feel.
When a player has wound me up as much as Priskin did at Peterborough I always pay close attention to them over next few games to allow them to convince me different. Whilst not turning things completely on their head I must admit TP is getting me back on side.
Balance your view of him so:-
Not played many games at all this season - playing his way to fitness?
Came into a complete and utter circus and a side bereft of confidence.
Our loyal fans on his back (me included) in his debut.
Now being asked to play a role whereby he shuffles into the right hand side when we've not got possession.
Link man to Simmo his main role so not going to get a glut of chances
In my opinion he's coming on.
I've seen him track back and get around the pitch far more than players such as Pellicori or Vine have this season.
He has won more headers from throws and long balls than you'd think.
Won the penalty last night you may have noted?
Has held the ball up slightly more than he's given it away.
I do get the feeling there's more to come from him - does have a tendancy to go to ground clutching his head and can appear a bit too laid back at times. Hasn't really peppered keepers with shots but see above comment on Simmo link man.
In summary - GIVE HIM A CHANCE PEOPLE!!!!
Oh, and Tamas, my message to you would be --- get yourself some good old traditional black footy boots.
