Writtler, i'm guessing the interview was not aimed for people like you.

We know you stance along with others, nothing wrong with that and even if we got promoted and stayed in the premiership, your view wouldn;'t change.

Its for the many who read posts on messageboards who believe all the hype put forward on this board and other boards. They can now draw their own conclusions, which may or may not change.

Best thing to come out of last night, was that he gave the fans a close feel to the club, something we have been lacking for years. You don't have to like the guy, but fans would have been encouraged on what they heard.

no-one is perfect and he has made mistakes, just like everyone of us.

i think the interview is a bit of a farce, it doesnt and i dont blame gp address issues which would leave him open to anything

I'm just amazed that anyone can be won over by an interview with a man who lied repeatedly in a court of law (not a dig at you Tarbie but in general) - ironically some of SM's interview contradicts his very own comments in court - but you know what? I really can't be arsed to sit down and disect it all word for word there will be others who will do.

There is a fine line between reality and fantasy for some people and serial bull****ters quite often end up distorting the story so often that the bull**** becomes reality in their own mind.

Both interviews should be taken with a HUGE pinch of salt. They won't convince the sceptics and the pro lobby will use them as a beating stick against the anti's but glancing around the other boards it does seem that the majority of the beating stick brigade are on here. Oh well more than ever I am convinced on one thing - until he goes there is very little chance of a united fanbase and despite the fact that he should have been given the tintac for his performance as DOF, that is reason enough for him to go.

Point taken with regards to GP's somewhat debatable past when it comes to distorting the truth and agreed the whole interview should be taken with a pinch of salt. After the whole thing is nothing more than a PR exercise.

Fair enough, you remain "GP out" and I'm sure you have your reasons. Judging by some of your previous posts you appear to have a very good knowledge of the ins and outs of the club.

My view point remains the same though. I am 100% behind our new owners and the board they have put in place. If they have deemed GP worthy of being retained, who am I to argue? Especially since he appears to no longer be in a position of any real influence.

GP has admitted his mistakes and in my opinion we should move on and get behind the new set up!

The court held that there was not enough evidence to prove that he was beyond reasonable doubt. A case of your word against his.

There is a big difference and that is the bit that keeps on being overlooked.

You can "think" what you like, its only when you write things down as a "facts" that the slander/libel laws might come into play.

This is slightly different. I would defend your right to your view; which is wholly different to me agreeing with it.

Now, if you look at your earlier posts, you will see that you in fact said that the court case established that he had lied

So, if you say: GP is a proven liar - I'd say you are 100% WRONG

Now if you change that and say: I think that GP is a liar - then that's your opinion.

I personally think that it is totally unfair to base your opinion of being a liar on the court case - and I would suggest that this is where you have formed your opinion originally, based upon a misunderstanding of exactly what the case descided.

Because the CPS wouldn't agree to fund it - quite simple.

Nico did make a ham fisted attempt to explain the "proven liar" quote from a barrister's point of view - but have a read for yourself and form your own opinion.

That and based on conversations with agents I know who have had dealings with the man (including one he thinks of as a friend) and I am most definitely of the opinion that the line between fact and fiction is somewhat vague in a certain person's head. Lovely guy - great schmoozer but.....
