  • The Warnock effect...

Yesterday was a totally different side to what we've been used to of late. Was it the most beautiful...no. It was good, flowing football, not the hoof ball some wish so as their continuous slagging of Neil can be justified. But the best thing about yesterday was the effort. Warnock clearly goes on work rate. Every player (to an extent) put themselves about. Hogan Ephraime was one of the biggest improvements in that area. Regardless of him being 'too lightweight' I felt he got his body between the man and the ball very well. In the 1st half, he covered Hill very well.

This is what you need to win games in this league. Team effort. NW didn't stop giving orders to the players, keeping them on their toes and letting them know he's in charge.

No, I'm not getting carried away on the back of one win. Make no mistake, anything less than a win on Tuesday against a relegation rival will undo all the effort from yesterday, but win...well, it'll be a huge reliefe.

Special mention to Ikeme yesterday too. I don't exactly rate him, but he was outstanding yesterday. Whilst it's easy to praise the likes of Connolly, Simpson and Faurlin as they're fans favourites, Ikeme kept us in that game.

    Roll on Tuesday.

Spot on.... It wasn't Barcelona no but for effort & playing your socks off it was top drawer... We showed more character yesterday than the we have the last 15 games combined. I'm pretty sure to it wasn't just because it was NW's first game I think he demands that kind of effort every game & I think he'll get it.

I have no doubt we'll get this effort in every game. I can see him hauling players off after 20 minutes if they start badly. I'm not saying we'll win every game, but the games we do lose will be done with at least pride and passion. By that, I mean we wontvjust roll over and die.

Very impressed with the difference shown.

Agreed that Ikeme had his best game for Rangers to date.

Only gripe is that he slices every drop kick. Anyone else notice this?

Great to see the 100% committment coupled with some much needed belief which NW clearly brings to the team

He keeps saying we have got the skill just need to get the mental side right.

Any other day we would not have kept a clean sheet second half. The man is a legend already

Great win, i agree that it is more NW doing than anything else though, he has a fight in him and gets it thru to the players, i can only see this as a good thing.
Funny thing i heard today though and that was Neil didn't even know the names of the scorers for the 1st and 3rd goals.
Oh well as long as he remember there faces so he can pick them again i'm fine with that.
