"they are great fans, passionate, absolute pleasure to deal with, small section of fans who are unreasonable and no reality to where we are"

Reality is fans are starting to realise in football generally, Portsmouth, Palace, West ham etc, whats going on with Man U, if Mike hadn't taken the club we would be in a fine mess. Reality is no money out there, football is not how it used to be"

Are some of our fans unrealistic?

Pete you keep trotting out this unrealistic carp.

QPR FC raised the expectations by promising me a better match day experiance, better experiance and sp[oke about the Premier league and Champions league within 4 years, in exchange for hiking my ST prices.

Maybe if they kept their mouth shut, done things properly, got a decent manager and stuck with him, the resentment held by many fans would not be there.

The unrealistic fans have been hyped up by the previous chairman and ott ticket prices. For that money you expect a promotion battle. When you don't get it you become upset.

The boards behaviour affects the way fans react. Once again the board have to shoulder some blame. But in general rangers fans are used to being the underdog who play good football and are happy with that. We know we'll never win the premier league!

And to compare us to Newcastle is obsurd. They should be competing for the premiership and chumpions league!

I actually agree with you on that.

Its just the reality we are not a big club and it will take time. Do agree, with your sentiments though.

Not a big club but we have a huge swathe of the fanbase (probably the most vocal in terms of whining) aged between 30 and 50 who remember decades of solid top flight, top 10 performances. Additionally, and hugely important to future success and development is that the influencers, movers and shakers in important places in the media and hierarchy of the really big clubs and businesses, fall into this demographic too and would give us a nice shove if handled correctly in the media.

During our "peak" years, we generated more exposure than Chelsea, Fulham, West Ham and Palace. If we're smart we can tap into these reservoirs.
