  • My Neil Warnock Thread

It seems everyone else has written one so I thought I'd give it a go. :pleasantsuprise:

I think we've found the right man for the situation in hand. I don't believe for a second that he is any sort of messiah but he is exactly what we need right now. We are in a dog fight and we need characters and we need a manager who can lead by example. Thank you Mick and Paul for taking on a job which was always going to be difficult to do especially in difficult circumstances but you weren't ever going to be able to set an example to the players because of what you've achieved or haven't achieved I should say. We've all seen the videos on youtube of Warnock and we've all seen the interviews so no doubt the players have as well. What you see is what you get with Warnock and similar could be said to Hart and Harford the key difference is you get what you need with Warnock but not with the other two.

Our chances of survival have gone up. Despite what sort believe who the manager is, is vital to the success of a team. Take Burnley for example, under Coyle they were playing good football and getting results and now they look like relegation favourites. Warnock and De Canio took over Palace and QPR within weeks of each other back in 2007 and Warnock took a team destined for relegation (they were 23rd and we were 24th) to finish 5th that season. Many have praised De Canio for what he achieved but we finished 14th. De Canio's QPR had a lot of money spent on it whilst Warnock had to achieve both safety and the play offs on a much smaller budget. Where we brought in the likes of Buzsaky, Agyemang, Hall, Connolly, Mahon, Lee, Vine, Delaney and Pickens, Palace just brought in Hill, Danns, and Derry - 3 men who are still at the club and all feature regularly. All three signings show us that Warnock brought players to the club who not only he wanted but who were in his long term plans. Delaney, Pickens and Lee are no longer at our club whilst Agyemang and Hall have been sent out on loan.

Under Warnock we will see the end to signings for the sake of signing someone and we will bring in players who not only improve the team but give the team and the squad a structure, which Warnock will want to achieve.

The football won't be the prettiest we've ever seen but in a results driven business we show finally get some success.

Nice post Sirpie - agree wholeheartedly. Any idea how many loans we can bring in given how many players we have already loaned?

I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

            Good analysis, sirpie.
With one foot in league 1, I'm prepared to sacrifice pretty football for winning results.
