Thoughts about today's game:
1) Middlesborough.....What a dump! Seriously sad to see a town that's in such decrepit shape. We drank in York before and after the game and it was an infinitely more pleasant experience.
2) Peter Ramage had one of his poorest games in a QPR shirt. The penalty he gave away was a stonewall penalty.
3) Having said that, Leroy Lita, who dived his way through the game, got a weird one that could have gone against Gorkss. However, the problem was a screw-up in communication between Ikeme and Gorkss in the first place - mainly because Ikeme in his infinite wisdom decided to come for a ball and then decided not to, putting our Latvian wonder in no-man's land....
4) Gorkss got away with a blatant handball in the first minutes of the game from a Boro free-kick that should have had him sent-off.
5) Marcus Bent. If you've got yellow boots like you're something special, you'd better play like you're something special - and today, he wasn't. What annoyed me wasn't the goal he had disallowed for offside, it was the fact he didn't seem to get up for one header in his first 10 minutes, he seemed to move in perpetual motion throughout his time on the pitch. One point though: he gave the fans a clap after the game. More than could be said for some of our players...
6) Why isn't Tarrabt starting every game? Today he was on fire. He had one shot brilliantly saved, and caused Boro non-stop trouble for the time he was on. The guy is a serious talent. Sure, he'll annoyingly keep the ball when he should really pass, but today, he had one of his better games.
7) Lee Cook's getting back to his best. The crossing was better than I've seen for a while, and he's getting away from defenders. It looked for a moment that he was crocked after a heavy Boro challenge (that the ref missed), but he got up and was fine. We need him for the run-in.
8) Ikeme is useless. Someone on the way back muttered that the reason why Cerny's not starting is that he's due a big appearance-related pay-off that the club don't want to pay, but I'm not sure what I believe. What I am certain is the fact that his position is better than Ikeme's, and considering both of Robson's penalties went in pretty much the same spot, I think Cerny would have saved one of them.
9) We need a bit of luck. On top of the goal disallowed and Tarrabt's saved shot, Buz had a brilliant strike at the end of the half wonderfully saved, and Simpson had a couple stopped. Liegertwood also hit the post......
10) Speaking of Liegertwood, he YET ANOTHER POOR GAME. He should not start for QPR if Connolly's fit.
