you make very good point jimmy but for now we need stability, and we need points. with the points and results, the confidence grows and the football will follow

I am sorry Jimmy but you are not giving NW any respect for his record at all. I dont know why. He has nothing to prove to us at all. He has managed promotion winning teams. I am not too sure who more qualified Rangers could get. You do not get the successes he has had by playing crap football and being lucky. Again just read what the Palace fans and players have been saying about him. You seem to totally ignoring this and siding to fact that his style is not befitting to QPR.
I am not saying that he would create a team anywhere near the TV side etc and I agree with your summary whole heartedly. Again I think you are ignoring the fact that the Rangers job is a tricky one and I would think certain Managers we would all would have agreed on are totally out of our reach.
I just think that NW is a sensible more businesslike choice that the owners are right to make. When you compare choices made in the last 2 years it makes you see how lucky we are.

Clubs live and die by the sword about important decions.
Jim G chose TV and got it right, he also chose Alan Mullery.
Its not just about the type of football NW plays more about the lack of football in NW.
We are both going to end up watching it and seeing what develops. My loyalty has been tested to great lenghts of late and the appointment of NW as a sensible and business like saviour at our club doesnt inspire me at any great length.
I met a die hard palace fan today(tatoo on leg) who said he didnt like the man and his tactics but said he should get manager of the year award for his achievment.
Its a decision that should never have had to been made in the first place due to the clowns in charge.
However it is the way it is and we appoint a man who wouldnt have come near us pre palace (his choice) and who wouldnt be welcomed if the club was run properly and is here because we have some wealthy owners.
Not enough for me

lofty give up mate.
99 out of 100 rangers fans think it would be a superb appointment and unfortunately you have found that 1.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Well if he is the next manager well good luck to him.
Sad that some are getting so excited and shows how desperate things are when we get someone like NW.
Before he came to Palace you wouldnt have gone near him.
Just promise me none of you so called football fans complain about watching rangers under NW especially the anti sousa mob.
'If god had meant football to be played in the air he would have put grass in the sky' Brian Clough who was no mug.
Its not about pretty/ugly football just some sort of cohesion using that little round thing.

jimmy this is silly
come on and be enthusiastic about a decent bit of business done!
give me 3 managers that would "realisticaly" come to qpr at the present time
not just who you would like to come but "realisticaly" come to qpr!
this all fits in perfect and im just glad we might be moving out of the joke that we face week in week out at present

I dont know how old you are but the best football I have ever seen down the bush was the Venables era, I started going in 1980. The football was clinical, devastating and awsome. We had a team made from solid players without any prima-donas. A fantastic squad who played their hearts out for the shirt, fans and of course the manager. I loved my football then and became totally addicted to it. Funnily enough the player that epitomised the club then was a certain gary Waddock. No flair just 100% commitment every single game.
QPR at that time played the most efficient off-side trap you have ever seen. there was nothing pretty about the team at all. But I tell you what they were the most organised unit in the whole of the football league. That brand of football got us an FA Cup Final, won us the old Second Division and then got us European Football. Some people could have called it boring football. As we all know Terry then left and the rest is history.
Our great, great club is in such a mess we need a manager who can come in and shake the place up, organise the team and gain 'instant' respect from the players. We need to stablelise the club and set it off again on the right foot. We need experience mate, not a young guy with new ideas. That sort of leader can come in the future.
Right now I believe NW is the correct and probably best choice for us. The fact that he is 61 and wants to bow out in glory in a few years is perfect for us. Palace fans loved him, Sheff Utd fans loved him. Why? Because he creates a siege mentality and most importantly shows passion beyond the norm. He will only accept this from the players too. You just watch them react. Footballers just boil down to ordinary working men. They need strong leadership from a general and if they get it they will react.
You must be able to see that this is just what our club needs.I came here to chew gum and kick ass,and I'm all outta gum!

Well I went to Palace vs Villa at Selhurst and I really enjoyed that game. The passion they showed was immense. I enjoyed watching Danns slide head first at Dunne much more than I enjoyed Taraabt taking it past 3 players and losing it at the fourth.
End of the day this half hearted football has tarnished our club and someone has to come in and tear it apart

Jimmy,
Some fair points there about NW. He hasn't been popular whenever he has brought teams to play QPR and he does blame the refs too much etc.
However, I agree that although his teams do not always play attractive 'on the carpet' football, they do creat chances and not by just hoofing the ball and playing for set pieces.
Magilton's side played some great stuff, but it was clear to many of us, that there was no plan B and that when playing against well drilled or physical sides, QPR and (Ipswich before) came unstuck.
At this satge of the season, I want QPR to win matches. And if winning 'ugly' is what it takes, then so be it.
However, I don't think Palace's football has been unattractive this season, and I think he and QPR can achieve results whilst playing some decent football.
One thing that NW does very well, is motivate his players so that they believe in themselves.

Look why should I get excited.
Theres not one ounce in warnock who cares about the game I love (blaming everyone else) or any affection/affiliation to QPR FC.
I wish him all the best though.
Now if GP ******ed off me and my quite a significant number of rs fans would have a street party.
