Shared this with a few people privately but is worth mentioning now Briatore has stepped down. Having touched on the subject I said on a previous thread I wouldn't bother the local community as I don't think there is the fan base anymore but I forgot about this story.
A few months ago a Local MP along couple of H&F Council Representatives approached QPR with a scheme looking for the investment. I don't believe Briatore was present in the meeting but he was represented by someone else.
Anyway the story goes H&F Council / Walt Disney wanted QPR to join them in a Community Project to build a £5.5 million sports complex where the Astro Turf is and BBC Park (possibly Batman Close)
Briatores response was and it will come as no surprise 'I owe the Local Community nothing, so the answer is no'. There was a few more colorful words than that so this may have taken place on a Conference Call.
Now I can understand Briatores view that the Council had approach him with a begging bowl but with all this talk of the Club and Bhatias vision for the future of the club maybe this is the sort of project that club should be geting involved with.
For the record the MP and Council Reps left with their tails between the legs but I'm not even sure they were propery listened to.
