  • Marc Bircham

Saw Marc heading towards HQ yesterday I'd imagine he was going to the Youth Team game.

I heard a rumour that he may take up a role at QPR in the future.

Really liked Bircham never the best player but gave 100% and who will ever forget that winner at Brentford.

Anyway good luck to Birch for the future.

Still never worked out why he has a Millwall tattoo..just shows how dumb some footballers can be at times.

Agree though - always gave 100%

Awful awful player, I'll never be able to understand how he managed to stay at QPR for five years, must have played well no more than five times in that period, play well once a year, not bad work if you can get it.
Not doubting the commitment, but that didnt mask the fact that he wasnt a very good football player.
The "Millwall" tattoo is a tad dubious to say the least as well isnt it ??! lol

I met him at O D's at one of Ainsworths concerts and he showed us his tattoo. It IS NOT a Millwall badge. It is just a Lions head. Now I'm not sure if that was connected to him being at Millwall (he fully denied that) but it is certainly not a Millwall badge on his arm.
Wasn't the greatest player but certainly gave 100%.
Unfortunately the impact him and Gallen had on the club because of their popularity with the supporters got Waddock forced out.

              ahem

              quote from Marc

He revealed he had turned down Birmingham City, he said. "I had a word with them at the end of the season and they wanted me but they have spent a lot of money on their midfield, bringing in players like Robbie Savage. Next season should be a good season for me so I do not want to spend it in the reserves. The Millwall fans would not have liked me going there much, either. I don't suppose my Millwall tattoo would have gone down too well, either."

Bircham said "I have loved my time with Millwall, I've had eight great years and enjoyed them all - that's why I got the tattoo. I will miss the fans. It does not matter which club I go to, it will not have as good fans as Millwall. I hope wherever I go they will give me a good reception if I play back at The Den. I don't think any other club has the same team spirit It will be like leaving school all over again and missing all your mates. But I won't be going too far."

Have said before, most footballers are a bit dumb.

I'm sure he's an R and all his family are.

He was just a prick getting the tattoo done, I was at the same gig and ribbed him about it early doors..he probably just felt the need after that to deny it.

Doesn't stop him being a good bloke who gave passion and belief to the Rs at the time though. If he had any sense he'd get it removed.

i will always remember the nite game v wall at LR when thier fans taunted him with the song "hes got bird **** on his head, hes got a lion on his arm!!!" great stuff by the old foe.they sang it non stop for ages.

He wasnt an "awful" player at all. He done his job and won promotion with us.

Not saying hes a Buzsaky, but to rubbish the man and say he is "awful" is out of order.
