Crystal Palace administrator Brendan Guilfoyle is running the club by text - even manager Neil Warnock struggles to speak to him.

The Yorkshireman revealed yesterday that he has more contact with Guilfoyle via text message than he does in person or on the phone, with the man from The P&A Partnership busy trying to sell the club.

Speaking yesterday (Tuesday), Warnock said: "I wanted to speak to him yesterday which he couldn't do.

"I got a text from him today and I asked him if I could speak to him tomorrow, which he couldn't do, or Thursday, which he couldn't do.

"So he is going to try and speak to me later on today.

"I am always on the end of a phone, I don't understand how you can have a conversation by text but it is one of those things I have got to get used to.

"I don't think he does it on purpose, I think he does it with everybody, it is just the way he is."
