Agree Dowie had the best record of all the managers and plenty of players want him, trouble is like De Canio not always a good idea to go back.

Certainly looks that way, both sauces (not club sauces) say its done, its now a matter of waiting to see.

Its only official when its official.

I think if we were in mid table now, waiting for Dowie to come in the summer would be okay.

But as we are only four points off relegation, I think Warnock is best suited to this job at the moment. If we lose on Saturday we could be right back in the poo and I don't think Dowie is as capable of dealing with that than Warnock. IMO.

Dowie and this is not his fault would not get the fans excited about our new start, we need a change in direction and that is to appoint a proven manager with great motivational skills, Dowie's record was ok but so was JM's at times and Like JM poor at other times. We need someone with experience who has a better chance to succeed.

No goalie on bench, their goalie stretchered off and a kid in goal..and we never had a shot on target
the few 100 qpr fans, suffered on a cold night, a terrible game...
                    Dowie can sod off....

Yes i was there actually which is why i said i would never be able to forgive him for that! But under Dowie we were extreamly fit, as fit as ive ever seen a rangers team. The only reason he was sacked is because he didnt want the umpa lumpa sticking his nose in where it wasnt welcome. So many people on this board have said that we would have been promoted if he would have stayed and im no different. Fact is that he didnt do a bad job and only left because he didnt do wot flabio said!

Firstly we just as fit under Sousa and this was because of John Harbin who Dowie brought to the club and I believe he stayed on after Dowie had been sacked.

Secondly who exactly on this board said we would have got promoted with Dowie? I haven't really seen anyone say that following his sacking with the exception of Pete (and a few gimps) who like to use deceptive win ratio to prove his petty little point against Sousa.

So to summise what you really mean to say is the equally fit team under Sousa would have stood a very good chance of promotion this season. Sousa who is now showing us how it is done with a lesser squad a Swansea in case you haven't realised and Dowie is working for SSN - says it all really.

                          Dowies last six league games.

                          Coventry 0-1
                          Derby 0-2
                          Blackpool 1-1
                          Birmingham 0-1
                          Forest 2-1
                          Swansea 0-0

Thats 5/18 and i saw no evidence that we were going to get promoted under him.

Thanks EYR and as you are probably aware we were getting worse and worse under him. I have said it before and I will say it again we were on the cusp of a very poor run of form under Dowie though the history books will always say he was the manager with he best ever win ratio.

The man had no ideas, no tactics and we were heading no where fast under him. He is an impact manager, he knocked the squad into shape and improved moral, but has serious limitations as a long term appointment. Just read the Palace MB's they say exactly the same as well.

Should never have been gicven the job in the first place

The only reason Dowie has a good win ratio is because they sacked him before the rot set in.
