id reckon we spent something along lines of just under a mil.. with lots of bonuses like if we go up.. if he makes argentina squad etc..

i dont expect he would have been free.

The official website states a deal worth £3.5m, which probably includes salary and fees.

If the £3.5m was just his salary that's £1.16m a year or £22k pw for an unknown player. I doubt that we are paying him £22k pw, which would suggest to me that some of the £3.5m was on a fee of some sort.

              personaly if we didnt BRILLIANT
if we did then FANTASTIC hes a good player

we must of spent some money him hes got talent, other clubs were on the radar for him ie inter milan we aparently paid £500k just to get him, also in argument that says we didnt "Instantutio"? i think thats the name of the club in argie bargie that they were in admin so we only paid compensation

if we didnt y is there a figure of £3.5 mill any way???

y would u anouance u spent more on a player if u didnt???

That £3.5m would be made up of agents fees (of which there will be many - dealing with Argentinian clubs is fraught), wages, signing on fees and bonuses. I'd doubt any fee to the club gets past six figures

What kind of agent fees are involved in someone that is free? ( we are not talking Tevez here)

What kind of agent fees are involved in loans?

I thought Inter Milan was involved somewhere?

No chance of spending the full amount on the lad.

The official website (see link above) are the people who said it was £3.5m

If Faurlin was a free agent are you saying that we are spending £3.5m over 3 years on his salary? Are we really paying him £22.5k pw?

Exactly the same fees as for "paid" transfers. Agent still has to do his job regardless of any transfer fee being involved between the two clubs.

The agent may have a relationship with the player that entitles the agent to say 20% of any signing on fee and then a proportion of salary, image rights, sponsorships etc.... similarly the agent who brokered the deal between the clubs and the player (and that "should" be a different agent and a different umbrella company to the one representing the player under FA rules ) will receive a payment from either club (usually the buying club on a "free") or a "finders fee". These sums are usually incorporated in a higher signing on fee so the player doesn't lose financially.

Loans work in the same way on a pro rata basis and will very often (esp at the higher level of the game) involve loan fees - eg Birmingham would have paid Manchester City somewhere in the region of £400k to borrow Joe Hart for the season.

I'd assume given some of the detail I'm aware of re Faurlin is that he may have had "ownership" issues similar to Tevez and Mascherano.

Will be interested to see the latest agents fee table, due out soon.

I would suggest we won't be anywhere near the top.

                              In the last 2 reports,

We were bottom of the league on one? right??

on the other we were near the top?? right
