  • Harford set to step aside

Mick Harford will be in charge of QPR for Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough - but expects it to be his last game at the helm.

Caretaker boss Harford met with Ishan Saksena, Flavio Briatore's replacement as chairman, on Tuesday afternoon.

While he was not told of any concrete decision having been made, Press Association Sport understands the former Luton manager, who was initially given the job until the end of the season, is resigned to stepping aside.

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock remains favourite to take over, but he is adamant he will be in charge of the Eagles for their trip to Doncaster on Saturday.

Warnock revealed he plans to visit a friend in Doncaster and has already booked his hotel room on Friday night, as well as claiming the match is far more important than Wednesday night's FA Cup replay at Aston Villa.

"There's nothing we can do about the speculation really," he said.

We will probably have 10 days from the Middlesboro game to get the right person in.

Pretty sure Harford will be in charge for Saturday.

Warnock still favourite, but nothing surprises me with QPR.

If we had of lost to Doncaster there might of been abit more urgency to get somebody in.Having won 1 game out of 7 Harfords a genius lets just stay as we are for another month or two.

After the Boro game, we have 7 days until WBA at home the following saturday.

Then we have a midweek fixture every week, for 6 weeks after that.
                7 games in march alone!

I'd say we have to get our man in before the WBA game next saturday, if he wants to have a few days in training before that mad rush of games.

What worrys me is that if we somehow nicked a result at Boro then the board might give Mick till the end of the season and look to address things in the Summer (by which time we'll be down!!)

Whilst I ALWAYS want my team to win you can't help but think that a result at Boro just papers over the cracks.

Why do we QPR always do their business this way ????

If west brom beat reading tonite in the FA cup. They will be playing on Sun 7th March (against the winner of Villa/Palace) so we may not have a game that weekend!

Just to add - Surely the CP team will travel up to Doncaster the night before, therefore wouldnt NW be staying with the team. If thats the case why is he renting a room on his own ?
