So 10-11 million a year is alot of money in the context of running a football club??

Sell Routledge for one of those years, thats 8.5 million?

Would presume wages are paid by the shareholders (could be wrong there, but would suspect they all do/did)??

To avoid argument say he pays the lot 8 million

Lets say alone on season tickets minimum 7,000 paying £500 (average), thats

        3.5 million??

On a yearly basis taking those figures into account, no I don't thnk its alot. I'm not counting on all the other stuff like sponsors, mechandise, c.club etc etc

Routledge 8.5m? how did you come to that?

You have not included sponsorships merchandise etc, I have not included agents fees, termination of contracts, bonuse, ground improvements.

For someone who was defending our lack of spending and the sale of routledge, you have soon changed your tune.

Some cynics would suggest you are defending GP again

Pete loans do cost money too. Clubs don't give you players for nothing e.g blackstock to forest loan last season for 400k.

Suspect we've paid a fair whack for Simpson and taarabt even before we contribute to or pay all the players wages.

And they're just two of the many loanees this term.

That's the whole point of this thread. Put the blame for poor old Paladini's appalling signings on nasty old Briatore for not providing enough money. If that was the case, then Paladini should have had the decency to resign, stating that he wasn't being given the required resources, thus telling the fans what was going on. The fact is he didn't, and was happy to carry on buying cheap crap players and putting them on big money, or getting in rubbish loan players and paying their inflated wages.

Terry Ball deducted the fee from Routledge, which reduces annual to 8.5 million expenditure. You'll right we are just summarising, we probably have more than 7,000 season ticket holders for example.

It sounds like you are defending Flavio?/ Fair play, not many have.

I used to think The Flav was doing his best and only changed my view recently.

Think we cannot dispute the loans recently, but I would put that do not having a spending budget??

Reality is, we've tried to reach the dizzy heights of premiership with 13,000 crowds, without spending millions.

I'd say the only person to hold the players budget on whats available was Flavio, but you can come back at me, if you think I am wrong.

I do want t put on record that Flavio did rescue this club from the proverbials and we are lucky now to have the Mittals on board, much of that down to him in the first place

                      johnno?/

I take it you don't like the fella?

Otherwise you no doubt realise that Flavio held all the purse strings and budgets for players.

Sounds to me, many on here are a little gutted that Flavio left, I do fnd that surprising.

but aye, what do I know?

                        Flavio is vile

Even though i dislike the bloke, I can not criticize him for his spending.

The man that has spent it deserves his p45

Not a case of not liking GP, I don't know him. I do know that he has made a complete hash of his role at the Club, anybody can see that, and as such should be removed from having any influence. Glad to see Briatore is no longer in charge, but GP should also go as well. We need to bring in people that know how to run a successful Club, and build up the infrastructure to allow that to happen. That means a scouting network, proper fitness coach, proper youth setup etc. You need those foundations if you want to progress.
GP has shown that he has no idea of what is required - we need proper football people with the right knowledge and experience.

I know what you mean, Flav had the final say and rightly so, it's his money.

What we seem to be unable to agree on though is that GP is the man responsible for selecting the players. As i understand it, Paladini suggests the players, flav says yes or no.

Is that correct as you understand it?

The last big signing we made really made was Routledge a year ago. I understand Flavio preferred to see the best deals available where he didn't have to part with too much cash.

That would answer why we didn't get targets like Leon Best, Ben Watson (buy last season), Chopra (last season), Cox, Beckford, Kitson plus long list of players we were linked to because they were either too much wages or they would have cost millions to buy.

Bent reportedly took a massive drop to come here to get first team football and Priskin was cheap. End of the day, if we had millions to spend January or last summer, we would have spent it.

Why do you think we were after frees like Adedbola in the summer?? If faurlin had been 3.5 million, I'm sure leon Best would have been a steal at 1 million
