  • warnock..cmon be honest

    we all hate this ****
a few yrs he was the type of manager who has a knack of creating a very physical team, no nonsense, hard tackling,bullies....anti football
very few qpr fans want this style of football but we are seriously DESPERATE...right now , he is the type we need to get our team to safety
but is not the long term answer....
he is like olly, a motivator
yet can he motivate our current crop of pampered ,sensitive ,nervy palyers??
    could anyone???

on a positive, they don't have lifetime contracts....just 4 yrs to go....

Very true, I am not personally a fan of Colin and you are right he has had his fair share of abuse from us over the years. Shows you how desparate we have become. But if he did come or even ID then they get the support from me 100% as would any new face.

Proven at this level. Won promotion and all of his sides are successful (within reason) Also Palace play much better football than us as did Sheff Utd.

Players love him, he is passionate about his club, good value for the fans and will not put up with the non trying waste of space players that now form the shell of a football team.

Coupled with the fact that he is likely to bring/attract the better Palace players with him then it can only be a good appointment.

And amazingly it seems like he wants to come.

I agree, but we have gone backwards we need someone who is going to be able to stand up to the players, put a scounting network in place, start brining the youth through and enable sprit / fight and commitment into the team.

There arnt many manager out there, there are alot who i feel can take the rains of a stable club already and adquate coachs but not sure they would be able to sort out the mess were in. Last time Olly done it, this time Warnocks turn, but motivators, both down to earth, both demand 100% and thier team to respect the fans and both liked by the media. 1 differance is Warnock has got out of this division and used to the play offs.

          I think a good choice

I think he is the type of manager that opposition fans love to hate but if he's your manager you will love him..........a bit of a Robbie Savage of the managerial world.

I think if you look at his history as a manager and some of his achievements you would have to agree he is a great shout for the job, regardless of whether you like him or not.

Notts County - Succesive promotions and a season in the top flight.
              Huddersfield - Promotion
Sheff Utd - 1 FA Cup semi final and promotion to the Premiership
Crystal Palace - If not for the 10 point deduction Palace would be challenging for the play-offs despite a threadbare squad.

If he came here I would welcome him with open arms!

As I've said, with our current plight, including league position, lack of youth, motivation and respect from the fans, there is not a better manager out there. Coppell is a big no, as is Jewell IMO. Curbs and Dowie have some of the attributes needed to shake this team up, but neither have everything needed. Curbs is the better of the two, hands down and also possibly the best 'mentioned' candidate for the ling term, but I'm still unsure that's the case. I'm not sure he has the manor to get imediate respect and results to keep us on the right road as things stand. Warnock however has them all. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying his record as far as promotions is the best, nor am I saying his football is always the prettiest, but he's never been a failier. He's always gotten mediocre teams in and around the playoffs with very little money most of the time. He likes to give youth a chance and loves a couple of much needed battlers in the side. He doesn't take crap and although seemingly hated by the public always gets the respect of his players...otherwise they're gone. Underperform and you're dropped.

Best man for the task in hand for me. No contests. Forget CV's and records, we're in trouble and Colin will sort it promptly.
                Your mum would love me...

Palace have looked alright to me this season when i have seen them & if he can get 16 goals from the likes of Ambrose, he might even be able to get Agyemang & Helguson to hit the net at least once for us before we all push up daisies!!!

i suppose, cos he's been a rival manager, a nuisance but GETS RESULTS..always a tough game v his team.
                        begrudging respect?
