Signing on fees refers to transfers not loans. Try and keep up.

My points stand. The official site says Faurlin was £3.5m so your "very accurate" figures are obviously not at all accurate.

You can therefore understand my reluctance to assume your figures are correct.

Also there has been the money spent on releasing players from their contracts. There have been quite a few so I wont bother mentioning them but it must be a hefty chunk of money. As well as players there have also been all the coaching and management that have had to have been paid off too. Again a fairly large outlay.

You're correct it doesn't. But then it DOES show that we have spent £3.5m on him so you can't really say he is a free can you? Just because a club goes into admin doesn't mean you don't have to pay for their players.

Reality is thats not what was spent on him.

This is not a PRO anyone thread, some are going on the defence. this is about players we have brought into the club

I am saying since Flavio's reign despite the expectations of premiership/champions league in 5 years, his wallet has hardly been opened, when you take away all the spin.

Hopefully The Mittals can get a decent budget for the summer and let a manager spend it on who he wants

for £3.5m we could have bought that argentine club lock stock and barrell - there's absolutely no way faurlin could have cost that much.

totting it up quickly, and allowing for unknowns, ground renovation, agents fees, i'm guessing flavio spent no more than £4m altogether tops.

the amazing thing about it though is that if he wasn't SO stupid, impatient and greedy it was a pretty cunning business plan on paper - he's right to think a club doesn't need to spend lavishly to get out of this division anyway. but to reel the sponsors £££ in with all the glamour he had to trick the fans too, and that's when it all went sour...
