  • My final view on briatore

Just my view but this man never saved our football club he ruined it in just over 2 years and i cant wait to see him gone completly, maybe we now have a new start but seeing is believing just remember all the spin in 2007 lets not get sucked in just yet.

well, he hasn't exactly gone, nor bernie, and at the moment we know nothing of who's holding what shares now.

Exactly. Mittal may have bought one share from Briatore for all we know at the moment.

The fact that the official story was purposely ambiguous regarding the amount of shares changing hands makes me think that Briatore still has a stronger position at QPR than most of us would prefer.

He had his faults but please remember what he did do for us....We'd have been in Administration without him....and the Mittals wouldn't even know we exist!....He messed up but he's part of where we are now.

I'm not keen on Flabby but he did save our football club.

Setting the scene, Gianni and sidekick in a hotel meeting room all day and evening with some money men trying to raise enough finance to see the Rs through the rest of that particular season. The money men exploring every possible angle to try and raise the money. They run out of options having got tantilisingly close, 90% of the way there, but could get no further.

Gianni gets a phone call very late, closes the meeting and shortly thereafter Flabby's deal announced. That is how close we came to going back into administration and possibly worse.

Like it or not Flabby saved our bacon. I'm glad he's taken a backseat and I like what little we have seen of the Mittals so far but like it or not he did save our club. Yes we are in a mess due to a series of crap decisions but that can be rectified without too much difficulty during the summer. The damage that could have been done had we gone into administration at that time could have been catastrophic.
